Question for the Christian Brothers: Exactly how much property did they transfer without monetary consideration (ie, for free) to EREA, half of which of its billion dollars in revenue comes from taxpayers? A pertinent question, given EREA refuses to give the brothers enough funds for compensation.
#LAW THREAD: Breaking: 1. Lawyers for the Christian Brothers told legal reps of clergy abuse survivors today they’re facing liquidation and will run out of funds by September this year after paying out $66 million last year paying victims and survivors. So they’re seeking a creditors’ scheme. BUT…

THREAD: 1. Some years ago women academics contacted me unsolicited on Twitter (which I no longer use) about an academic in Melbourne. They’d made complaints to a faculty head about the man’s targeted, obsessive bullying of women colleagues, including First Nations women. The university kept him on.
Thanks to the beautiful people of Williamstown who came to Willy Lit writers’ festival today to hear me talk to ABC colleague Sarah L’Estrange about Shellybanks, which sold out at the festival today. So grateful for the support of my fiction. Love these community events & the people I meet at them.

That feeling when an idiot troll sends email with a fake name but it’s a gift because the name’s so funny, it’s perfect for an annoying character (a shallow frenemy) in the novel you’re writing. Also, is there a German word for a hateful public figure making a major fashion faux pas? Surely so?

ICYMI last night’s #4Corners on poor behaviour by #police, it’s well worth a watch. I’ve worked with many excellent and under-appreciated police over decades, but it’s vital they’re held to the highest standard and this story by my colleagues Dylan Welch and Elise Potaka is powerful and disturbing.
