Years ago someone described Chad Kroeger to me as a "rock god" and to be honest I still don't think I'm over it

Good Lord, I graduated from university 17 years ago today Here's a graduation photo, have a chuckle
Looks like PRS day is one day early - happy PRS day, music folk! Summer is normally the leanest of the bunch for me, never really questioned why that is... but still very much grateful to see my music getting used!
I think one of the worst things about working with audio in any sort of professional capacity is forgetting to take the time to step away and just listen to what's already out there, to get completely pulled into something you haven't heard before.

at least once a year i like to remind myself of how much a banger this album is
That's cool, when I got into music I couldn't play any instruments and I still have no band naming skills. Kid has a head start.
My son is starting a band with his friends, and he cannot play any instruments, but he has exceptional band naming skills
Finally got around to listening to Inferno. Much like BoC's previous record, I managed to avoid all the hype and marketing surrounding it, so I was able to give it a proper listen without any expectations beyond my own. I thought it was bloody marvellous. Can't wait to dip back into it.

In light of the recent Native Instruments news, now is as good a time as any to strongly urge everyone writing music to ALWAYS render stems for everything you work on. If storage is a concern, maybe consider using a lossless compression format such as FLAC. My only regret is not doing it sooner.
This is so cool - do yourself a favour and get this in your ear-holes :)

Native Instruments is in preliminary insolvency. I did not have that (or Reason Studios being bought by LANDR, natch) on my music tech 2026 bingo card. I hope everyone at NI is ok, and I hope to see as few "NI IS DEAD, THE END IS NIGH" posts as possible. cdm.link/ni-insolvency/

Future Human is one of my favorite instrumental albums ever: sick beats, excellent rhythms, just awesome. It’s really stunning and Sarah has taken great care in mastering it for vinyl AND a digital remastering available today. Pick it up, digitally or in this gorgeous physical format!

I remember in the 90s when K'nex was marketed as a sort of advanced alternative to Lego, and was a bit curious about it. Having now acquired some as an adult, I have satisfied my curiosity and confirmed my suspicions - it's kinda shit
