A new article from AWR! In 'Visualizing Transborder Lifeworlds in the Polish-German Border Region' Iepke M. Rijcken, @piotrgoldstein.bsky.social, & Maksymilian Awuah reflect on transborder lifeworlds using photography and sound recording as a research method.

Looking forward to this online conference later today! It's all online and entrance is free, so join us if you can!

In early June the VISION team went for a field visit to Romania. We explored the city of Iași and rural areas around the city, met local researchers and talked to people in the region. It was a great experience and a very fruitful short research stay! Here is a short clip we recorded on the road.

Very excited to be part of the #Ethnografilm festival that started in Paris today! "This Week Doesn't Really Exist" we made with Olga Łojewska and Maks Awuah, will be shown on Saturday 19 April at 15:30 at Club de l’Etoile cinéma on 14 Rue Troyon, next to Arc de Triomphe. Join us if u're around!

Thank you @stefano-piemontese.bsky.social for letting us be part of the amazing film programme at this year's Association of Social Anthropologists #ASA2025 conference in Birmingham!

@piotrgoldstein.bsky.social's (and colleagues) polyphonic film explores cross-border commuters between Poland and Germany. Using a circular narrative, it captures how daily migration affects the workers' sense of time, leading them to conclude "This Week Does Not Really Exist"

I am looking forward to seeing this short #ethnographicdocumentary we did with Olga Łojewska and Maksymilian Awuah at Club de l'Etoile cinéma next to #ArcdeTriomphe in Paris. It's about #transborder #commuters who wake up before 2am in their towns in #Poland to work in #warehouses in #Brandenburg
