For me, it comes down to this: when compounding crises threaten our water supply, do we want corporations and billionaires in control of it?

Having first tried being a ‘one nation’ Cameron-Tory, then a remainer, then a rabid brexiter, Jenrick has now decided that his route to power lies in being a nasty little far-right shit. A total loser scrabbling around for ‘likes’ in the cesspit of Reform. www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/entry/robert...

He previously said the heckler should “get a life”.

What I love about Western democracy is you can bung a political party £ 36 million earned from criminal activity & most media will continue to point at asylum seekers & migrant care workers with families as the barbarians at the gate we need to defend ourselves from 🙄.
Farage net favourability with the UK public is -45, same as Starmer when he resigned. I'm sure some of the shifty types in Reform are looking at these figures and planning maneouvres. yougov.com/en-gb/articl...

Piddington in Oxfordshire votes to leave UK over asylum plans
Piddington residents vote over proposals to house up to 1,256 male asylum seekers nearby.

Turn on #bbcbreakfast and they're treating a village's racist referendum as if it's a general election result. "The people of Piddington have roared" says presenter John Kay.
The merits or demerits of the asylum seeker base aside, you might imagine from listening to the BBC that Piddington was an isolated rural village as opposed to already right next to HMP Bullingdon and a bunch of army bases.
It has just spent 10 minutes reporting on an unofficial referendum to leave the UK in some Oxfordshire village pissed off about an old army base being used to house asylum seekers. I assume it will do the same when another village is annoyed about plans for a new housing development?
And the other dysfunctions at the heart of our energy market - it’s rigged in the favour of big companies against the interest of the country - we need the courage to change that. To challenge the orthodoxy of ‘markets’. We need an energy market that works for Britain. More info in this short paper.
This is a fossil fuel crisis and we suffer more than we should because we allow the price of fossil gas to set the price of our wind and sun. When will we fix this?
Here we go again, our second energy crisis in five years, the last one cost us £70 Billion in payments to mitigate the harm of sky high bills, what will this one cost? TBC. dalevince.com/reports/whol...
Wholesale market reform
Britain’s energy market is broken. Here’s how wholesale price controls, North Sea reform and breaking the gas link could cut bills for good.

So, don't share your darkest fears like a mantra. They disempower and deflate others AND you! The nihilism of presenting him as inevitable IS their strategy. I know we can beat Farage, because we ARE beatING him. His numbers are shrinking. Now is the time for shoulders to the wheel - not apathy. 3/3
It's wrong because it is based on a huge category error: voted Reform once ≠ Reform voter ≠ die-hard Farage fan I don't underestimate the loyalty of that last group. But it's easy to overestimate its size, inundated with voxpops from conference delegates, by definition the most cultish sample. 2/3
I plead with people not to propagate their "it won't make a difference; his supporters love him" gloom. Actually, Farage is on the ropes and he didn't get there by himself. He's there because people continue to believe resistance does make a difference. It's also wrong on the facts. 1/3

Here's a small call to action: share this podcast with your social networks - take an hour to understand what the problem with Reform UK is, and wtf is going on around us.

Over the next 58 days, do something every day to help Democrats win. It does not have to be grand. It can be a conversation with your neighbor, a call to a family member, or a volunteer shift to knock on doors. Every action matters.

MAGA social media is now filled with posters who are in the employ of the Trump administration and do not disclose this fact. It's a propaganda program that looks increasingly like that of an authoritarian state.
I hope that @zackpolanski.bsky.social can win this by election. An honest voice that will ask the questions that need to be asked in parliament and the start of turning back the tide of hate that politics has been swept up by as of late. Vote @greenparty.org.uk
We can win. Together. It's going to require people power like never before. See you on Sunday? Details below. m.youtube.com/watch?v=ej0c...
Israel's defence minister revealed that his Government is seeking Donald Trump's support for their plan to forcibly remove Palestinians from Gaza. Forced displacement is a war crime. When will Labour act? End all arms sales. Ban illegal settlement trade. Sanction the Israeli Government.

This was stupid when the police were asked to investigate Zahawi and Rayner, and it's stupid now. There's no evidence of dishonesty by Zahawi/Rayner/Polanski and the police should simply say that and not get drawn into these games. Carelessly paying wrong tax is not a crime.
