Metis, Vancouver Park Board Commissioner at Vancouver Board of Parks and Recreation, Co-Chair Childcare Council of Vancouver, VSB Elementary School Teacher

📌 He tried to eliminate the integrity commissioner while under investigation by the integrity commissioner. 📌 He tried to abolish the democratically elected Park Board without a referendum.

Ken Sim received one of the largest majorities in Vancouver history. After 4 years, 26% tax increases, and jet setting, nothing has improved. But when he did show up to work, this is what he was doing (Courtesy of CBC):

The Vancouver Park Board has approved a one-time reallocation of funding in its 2026 budget to pay for lifeguard staffing at the nine sites this summer 🏖️ Ongoing funding for these services will need to be established as part of the Park Board’s 2027 budgeting process.

Did you know that cherries, apples, pears, plums, and even almonds are all part of the same Rosaceae family? 🌸🍎 Today we joined a nature walk with the @vancherryblossomfest and learned so much from our host Egan Davis about the significance of these trees in Vancouver.

Welcome to the team, Mark! You were instrumental in the Park Board’s successful launch of our revitalized food and beverage service—but there’s more work ahead. Looking forward to working alongside you to finish what we started.

The Vancouver Liberals are proud to announce that @mark4parks.bsky.social one of the most transformational leaders in our park system, is our latest candidate for Park Board. Welcome to the team, Mark! vancouversun.com/news/vancouv...

On April 1st ABC councillors unanimously signed on to the Elect Respect campaign. On Sunday they started running this ad. It’s almost comical at this point.

Facebook ad with the caption: “Vancouver’s left-wing parties have struck a back-room deal to limit competition…”. The image is a grid of 5 politicians- me, Pete Fry, Kareem Allam, William Azaroff, and Rebecca Bligh- in a dramatic dark sepia tone. It features the words “We cannot afford to go back” and “Chaos coalition”.

The Van Liberals plan for our community centres, pools, and parks is $1.35 billion. It’s based on what is needed, given the profound lack of investment over the years. Ken Sim is proposing a $1 billion cut from what’s required and $150 million less than the last capital budget. Unacceptable!

Great to be on Early Edition this morning with Michelle Elliot discussing our Park Board motion to thoughtfully invest in aging infrastructure. We hope Ken Sim and Council listen to residents’ priorities. The Early Edition with Michelle Elliot:

Today Vancouver Mayor Ken Sim promised about another property tax freeze and a $400 million community centre fund. if re-elected in October. Here's my video on the promises, along with the difference between today and his first State of the City address.

A bit of an odd statement from OneCity about Ken Sim's promise of $400 million for community centres Capital plans are funded separately from the yearly budget, and Vancouver has $1.4 billion in reserves set aside already ABC might be playing cynical politics, but the money is pretty easy to find
