Two years ago, I introduced a pioneering policy to provide free school meals for all of London’s state primary school children. Today we’re celebrating 100 million free school meals provided since September 2023.

Bright orange graphic with bold, cut-out style lettering. At the top it reads “Mayor of London” and “Great News”. Large white and purple text states “100 million free school meals served so far…”. The words “free school meals” appear in a child-like handwritten font.

Thanks to our bold policies, we’ve made great progress in cleaning up London’s air. I’m committed to doing the same with our rivers. Our Clean and Healthy Waterways Plan will set out our priorities to reduce pollution, restore biodiversity and improve access to rivers over the next 10 years.

Graphic with an image of a woman in a pink and blue swimsuit jumping into water, with illustrated swimmers cheering around her. Text reads: “Mayor of London. Great news. London joins the Swimmable Cities Alliance.”

So my mom has just… not had many good days the past few years. Her depression has made it tough to see how beautiful & perfect she is. Part of why I moved in aside from caretaking for my dad was to help her rediscover herself. So we did a kimono shoot for her bday. Look at her radiant smile y’all.

My beautiful mother in my wife’s kimono passed down through her family. The kimono is black or navy with many gold and red flowers and a red obi. She has earrings, glasses and a big smile My beautiful mother by the stairs posing in my wife’s kimono passed down through her family. Yesterday we visited Green Mountain Falls, CO to visit the kinetic sculpture Off the Beaten Path by Patrick Shearn. I wasn’t ready for just how dynamic it was even in the slightest breeze. Reminds me of a murmuration of starlings. Incredible artwork. It’ll only be up through October 19th.

It's pub day in Canada for Oxford Soju Club. It all began in 2018 as an absurdly cliched action novel that also became my self-therapy. After 5 rewrites, edits, and a TikTok DM from my now-editor, it’s here. Nervous, excited, ready to share my heart. I hope you enjoy meeting Jihoon, Yunah & Yohan.

In this life writing piece shortlisted for the 2024 Queen Mary Wasafiri New Writing Prize, Sarah Anjum Bari (‪@wordsinteal.bsky.social‬) explores matrilineal relationships, patriarchal expectations, and rebellion for South Asian girls — and how hair can be at the root of it all. buff.ly/P1IlohD

I can’t speak for every city, but here in LA, ICE bounty hunters aren’t going after gang members. They’re hunting the vulnerable: gardeners, street vendors, day laborers. Easy money, no risk. Folks need to stop pretending this is about crime. @jacobsoboroff.bsky.social—thank you for your words.
