Todays random thought is what if I am able to do the move before Christmas? Do I postpone it or just have a weird distance Christmas? My partner and I don't do anything crazy for it anyway so its probably not a big deal.

I finally got some more info! Lots of stuff about working in museums back in the UK and possibly doing another Masters for it. And my friend has even offered to set up a meeting, as well as introduce me to a contact who is a lecturer and works with museums! I see the path now!

I need to socialise more. Specifically with friends. I already have at least 1 invite for when I move to go out for coffee, haha. That's more socialising than I've done in 14 years oof.

More applications submitted and I am writing the final communique to my parents regarding moving. I am still waiting on some information but me telling them might be the last of it (depending on reaction). Needless to say I'm taking the week to get all my thoughts into it.

Have applied for a position at Oxford, its very low grade so maybe we get lucky... I always feel icky applying to Oxford tho, I know it will do wonders for my career but it still feels gross. But gotta think of short term uncomfiness for long term yay.

So if with the possibility of doing museum masters instead of teaching I am pondering which sounds better. One the one hand teaching is simplest, on the other museums lets me continue my research... And I do like my research... *pondering continues*

We wait... In the mean time I found a tutor position to apply to that having taught in Canada might actually help me with. I just need to get my cover letter to say what I want.

More jobs applied more waiting for word. Imagine if I didn't have to do that how much energy I'd have for the other stuff I need to do in life.

Once I move home I am officially going to start having holidays again. I haven't had one since I was 19 (this was a long time ago XD). I will go to Warhammer World :D

As moving back to the UK comes closer and actually more of a real thing than a pipe dream its just making me dwell a lot on what home is. There's no conclusion to this thought just introspection *sighs wistfully*

Very positive email from back home, going to take a few days for all the info to come back my way but positive first steps! It was a "Where do u see yourself in 5 years" type of deal and I can answer that for the first time since I started Uni 14 years ago...

The big post is done, emails are written and just need to be sent. Also I am doing some Daggerheart TTRPG tomorrow! So its all go in brain land. I wonder what not having to have a busy head feels like XD

In positive news everything going on forced me to do some painting which is nice. Also got everything written on the big post now I just need to make sure I didn't forget anything. Hopefully emailing a few friends and family back in the UK this weekend to get planning moving more!

The trials continue XD got another email today this was a doozy: 50% made up 50% actual easily provable lying. We've gone from stalling to just blocking. Apparently they were mad at my sibling but regardless I am pressing on assuming they won't help now. Which sucks and is rough but we persevere!

Got a response today it was more questions, so they are dutifully answered and we keep going. I want to make sure this move is done right and its not a rash/run away situation. Also trying to word everything about the move in the smallest amount of ledditing is taxing on the brain XD

Well it's now fully in the wild as I announced the big move on stream. Now I just have to type out a full explanation and see if it should be a video or not. (It probably won't be). Still bo response from family..m

So the reason parents haven't given me an answer yet on support is because they have a new dog. This doesn't really explain why they can't answer but it does feel like being stalled. Maybe soon *tm*?

No real life update today, its the weekend so I am just waiting on replies. However the UN passed a resolution to adopt the Equal Earth projection map which is super nice! Anyone who is mad at this really needs to get a grip FYI.

Book is moving to production next week so I should be able to announce an actual release date soon tm. They are happy with everything so thats one relief at least. I just gotta hold on long enough for it to come out cos it will improve job hunting... but thats months away.

This is fun daily updating! So its now been identified that doing a fact finding mission to the UK would make most sense before moving their permanently. Which I 100% agree with, now we find out if they help. Also in the mean time I will have to magic money for just rent/food. But there is movement!

No matter how stressful moving will be. I just wanna say now how much I appreciate everyone. And more than that I've never had so many people in my life enjoying the prospect of me being somewhere... thank you all.

Hog's teaching escapades continued! My parents did not respond to the email they requested! So I presume they want to ignore the issue. Which is the response I expected and kind of hardens me to school in UK is best option. Anyone need a roommate in a few months XD

Well, chat occurred, no answers yet. BUT they weren't mad so its a plus. But the reasons they tried as to why moving back to the UK was a bad idea all made it seem like a way better idea... I think I'm fairly certain I know what I need to do, I just don't know where the money comes from to do it...
