The idea that making a sitting president answer for criminal charges would distract him from important official duties has never looked more ridiculous.

Gloria Steinem has passed away. Long ago, my parents used to force me to go to church each Sunday. One time the pastor made a comment about "people who were destroying America, like Carl Sagan and Gloria Steinem." I liked Carl Sagan. Gloria Steinem was new to me. I took it as a recommendation.
"If feminism means each of us finding our unique power, and helping other women do the same, Dolly Parton certainly has done both," wrote Gloria Steinem in 1987.

Dolly Parton was an uncredited producer on Buffy the Vampire Slayer. When she learned the only female producer was making less than her male counterparts, Dolly cut her a check for the difference, on the spot.

@chrislhayes.bsky.social Thanks for the best, most insightful, & historically relevant Gloria Steinem tribute I saw today. You and @rtraister.bsky.social truly captured her importance. The rise of pedagogical authoritarianism in schools, including the anti-screen/AI moves are a form of backlash. 1/2

What Pablo Torre did was ridiculously impressive. Uncovered a conspiracy between rich guys, withstood a propaganda campaign by one of the richest guys in the world with a pretty good reputation, didn't buckle or panic, and just kept reporting. That's some Pulitzerin' right there.
RIP Gloria Steinem. The world has lost a true pioneer and force for women rights,,, my deepest condolences to her family, friends, and team. Public Enemy will be forever grateful for her blessing and support of our track SHE GOT GAME. open.spotify.com/album/0BG4L6...

Even if his attempts at restricting mail-in voting fail, the uncertainty may scare off voters.

NEW — The GOP is making their midterm convention entirely about Trump, calling it “Trump-a-palooza.” So we’re parking all 3.5 million Epstein files outside of the event so folks don’t forget who he really is. They want confetti. We’re bringing the paper.

Trump defends data centers: “The only reason that communities throughout the U.S.A. should not want Data Centers is if they want to end up being backwards and poor. If they want to be successful and rich, with far lower taxes and jobs all over the place, let Data Reign.”
This viral idea of learning being dependent on "friction" needs to be challenged. It is being sold to us by folks who believe that learning requires misery and irksome tasks. That view needs to be rejected.
