Kids watched Pocahontas last night. I read somewhere that everyone at Disney wanted to work on that instead of The Lion King and I’d love to know why.

The Internet is a great training ground for having kids, because you’ll already be prepared for arguing over the most innocuous statement. You: It’s dark at night. Your child/Internet hobgoblin: No it isn’t.
If AI is the future, why are they so upset about watermarks?
A lot of chat about the new 3D style for the Bluey movie, so I asked the target demographic. “It looks weird.” “It looks better on Disney.” Can’t disagree with them. I don’t understand why movie executives think 2D animation isn’t good enough for cinemas any more.
“It’s 2055 and the water is running out” is the beginning of a sci-fi dystopia.
When they ask you to watch a 20-minute video with two ads and three sponsors and the actual content could be distilled into a single written sentence.

Am I the only person who doesn't like colour-blind modes in video games? Whenever I try them the picture looks wrong. Because "right" looks wrong to me. So I turn it off.
It’s funny seeing how many people needed 30 years to realise Daniel Hillard was a dickhead. There was a horse in the house eating the birthday cake but you thought the mum was a bad guy?
This remains one of my favourite reviews I've received because it is, in fact, precisely what I intended.
Disappointment after a UK election has become so standard that I wonder how I manage to get up any hope for the next one.
We recently rewatched Back to the Future, and I’ve decided I feel it’s the greatest motion picture trilogy ever made. Star Wars OT, Lord of the Rings, Dark Knight, Toy Story, The Matrix, they’re all amazing. But they’re not as consistently good as Back to the Future (though Toy Story is close!)
Multiple people would have needed to sign this off.
First look at Dwayne Johnson as Maui in the live-action ‘MOANA’ remake.
“But do you really want to live your life on easy mode?” Yes. Think how much happier we’d all be if our challenges were of our own choosing, instead of dictated by rapacious markets and lunatic governments.
I once hated a book so much I didn’t want to waste any more calories carrying it around. So I left it on the train. And if my selfish actions exposed you to Dan Brown’s Lost Symbol, I am so sorry.
I’ve been voting by post (a “mail in ballot”) here in the UK for decades now.
Trump lies: "There's not a country in the world that does mail in ballots anymore. They tried it ... there's no elections so corrupt as the elections in the United States of America. And we can solve them."

I didn't have "Spongebob meme creates existential crisis" on my bingo card this week.
Labour won an absolutely stonking majority but we’re all talking about the parties with 5 MPs. With good reason, I might add. I’m very pleased to see the Greens win in Gorton. It just seems bananas that a party with such a majority has managed to lose our attention.
I’ll never understand why someone asks for expert opinion and then argues with it.

I’ve seen maybe one Studio Ghibli film, but I almost bought this book on the strength of the title alone. Fucking beautiful work.
Checked my book sales this morning and they’re twice as high this month! Don’t get me wrong, we’re not talking Dan Brown numbers. We’re barely in Dan Puce territory. But it’s a nice surprise. No idea what’s behind it, though 😄
Gonna post it again... Please give it some exposure. It might not result in anything even if it got 100K signatures, but if it doesn't get any it definitely won't and we're seeing more and more evidence rather than conjecture around these murky, opaque orgs. petition.parliament.uk/petitions/75...
Petition: Require all think tanks to disclose their donors, funding, and media spending

Is the media just playing it safe when it breathlessly claims Starmer is toast? Because, if he goes, they can say "look, we predicted that." If he stays, they can just claim he's "hanging on." But they're probably scared they'd look daft if he went after they'd said his position was secure.
The girls were colouring at the weekend, so I sat down and had a go too. Just what the doctor (Robotnik?) ordered.
Yes, Starmer has flaws, but weren’t we ready for boring politics? I’m not sure why we all seem so keen to replicate the Tory leadership dramas. Have we just forgotten what else to do?
I’d heard good things so I watched Jurassic World: Rebirth. The title is ironic; the Jurassic World series has been pretty vacuous, but this installment’s attempts at nostalgia prove the franchise has become a dead and desolate wasteland.
Wondering how Netflix got this bizarre notion regarding my net worth.
