In the last year, we've gone from people waving the red flag about StickerMule being called "woke" or overreacting, to having their CEO be the Trump-endorsed Republican shoe-in for a US House seat, where his dangerous fascist rhetoric will sincerely endanger lives. Fuck StickerMule forever.

It's mind-boggling to me that anyone to the political left of Stephen Miller could look at a system where the cops high-five the Proud Boys and Oath Keepers and the J6 rioters get off with paydays, while people protesting fascism get tanks, teargas, and 50-year prison terms, and think "that's fine"
Drastic and severe reform is a *start*, but the notion that was popular in 2020 (and started long before) that policing exists largely to serve a class who the law protects but does not bind and harm a class who the law binds but does not protect still holds extremely and obviously true.
It doesn't matter if you like your local police department. The continued militarization of police, qualified immunity, the surveillance state feeding them warrantless info about us, the use of cops as a stand-in for mental health intervention professionals...all have been a disaster and cost lives.
Corporate Dems are joining hands with Republicans to smear progressives for having said "defund the police" in 2020, so here, let me say it in 2026: the institution of policing is fundamentally fucked and does not represent justice for many. We should reinvest in social services and communities.

Our basic needs are only met if we allow toxic people to harm us, which only makes us sicker. Abuse steals spoons. It destroys the spirit. It makes you question your worth. We deserve better. Our community needs allies & support so no one is ever abandoned or trapped simply for being sick.
If you’re disabled and relying on someone who’s abusive for literal survival, please know you’re not alone. The lack of social supports and safety nets mean many of us get trapped in exceedingly dangerous situations. Forced to choose between help with food and meds or abuse.
We need to start forcing people to do the right thing, I’m not even kidding. I have no tolerance for inaction or silence, it’s do the right thing or die now. Society owes many marginalized groups a huge debt, and trans people are certainly one that’s owed a whole fucking lot.
I’ve been constantly talked over, outright gaslit, nearly silenced, overall just not listened to, and I’m met with constant excuses as to why allies “can’t do anything“. The fact that even some big-ass nonprofit is also doing this shit, I’m this close to just snapping and ending up on the news.
As a trans person in the U.S., begging people to actually put in the effort and do the right thing for trans people has become fucking exhausting. Seems like so many allies are just in it for “woke points” instead of actually supporting us, heck sometimes they‘re even subtly transphobes outright.
but philanthropy isnt about actually helping people, it's designed for the bourgeois to to collect social capital and prestige by showing how awesome and heroic they are for saving so many lives. and that's why the CEO of Trevor Project deserved to be paid *checks notes* $719,000 in 2024???
the Trevor Project's yearly revenue is around $85 million. that's close to the yearly cost of all trans healthcare for every trans person on Medicaid in the US. even if they gave just 25% of that money directly to trans people, i bet it would save more lives than the call centers do.
am i allowed to talk about how weird it is that the main way liberals philantropize trans people is by donating money to liberal nonprofits for call centers that beg us not to kill ourselves, instead of directly funding our material needs which, when deprived, lead to suicidality? is that allowed?
