imagine if it was possible to do payments but decentralized 🤯 we could keep a public ledger and use cryptography to verify transactions

Nobody ever asked it to be a “liberal echo chamber”. That’s literally what made this a fun place. Guess that’s over bc 💰 trumps everything, literally all the time. You & Toni are dumb af.
lol space x rocket is going to crash into the moon and leave a 16ft deep crater
mini survey time ! 🗳️ we’re working on a redesign to make pckt feel less cluttered and more minimal. we’ve got two questions: is there anything you never use or feel like you could do without? which tools do you use the most?
people getting upset about this is so crazy. bsky needs to become more than just a liberal politics app. doesn’t mean it needs more nazis & right wingers, just means it needs less politically focused users. it’s not good to be in your own little bubble, can’t have change with nobody to influence.
Bluesky's new CEO Toni Schneider on the platform's reputation for being a liberal bubble: "Yes, we definitely want that to change. It is already changing. It certainly wasn’t designed to attract one specific group of people."
It's not about data ownership, it's about who we are delegating trust to store our data, steward and moderate our digital spaces, curate our feeds, etc. The hegemonic social media platforms are predicated on the premise that end-users have no agency to begin with.
atproto offers an fascinating example of what it means to restructure this relationship. End-users get to choose who and how much trust they delegate to software producers, the delegation of trust becomes tangible and revokable.
my partner just described bluesky as like being invited to join the polycule 💀
this is too cool

I've been looking for a Pinterest replacement for a while now. Tired of the ads, promoted Pins, AI-generated images, decreasing quality of search results. Just read about image clipper @currents.is in @tynanpurdy.com 's blog on @pckt.blog. Intrigued! Looking forward to trying.
Thank you @tynanpurdy.com for the great write up!
