Finally got out of the house for our first stroller walk today and hoo boy, if you thought I complained too much about infrastructure BEFORE !
Love this new story from Nathan, now in Echidna lit: “If the clocks were as old as the countryside and the doctor’s house had been built around them, it would come as no surprise.” echidnalitmag.com/2026/09/06/l...

Me asked to assess my mood over the past seven days on yet another PPD risk assessment form:
In a reply to his mom, Elon says he gets sad sometimes.
Maybe too broad an ask but if you have a favorite poem about mother/parenthood that is A) NOT about grief or death, at least not entirely and B) is actually a good poem and not hallmarky/instagrammy I’d love to read it!
“Isn’t this the most spectacular thing you’ve ever seen? I asked them, but I wasn’t sure anymore. I wasn’t sure I liked my arms so leafy, so conspicuous.”
"I was twelve when I became a tree." Folks, it's such a pleasure to welcome the phenomenal @skyskkyy.bsky.social back to @hexliterary.bsky.social with a new fairy tale that tip toes into body horror. This is an unforgettable coming of age story, spectacularly penned! Would advise u not to miss it.

Many thanks to Frank over at @short-story-shout.bsky.social for featuring "The Flatlander" this week!
On 𝐂𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐭𝐧𝐞𝐲 𝐏𝐚𝐬𝐤𝐨’s “The Flatlander” in 𝐆𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐭: "The required beats in a cautionary tale are clear, and Pasko hits them all. But as is the case with most exceptional stories, she tinkers around the edges of the form, and in doing so, elevates her story above it." @cpasko.bsky.social #booksky #litfic
The day I've been dreading for two and a half years finally happened: forgot my badge at home, didn't realize until I was at the office, and have stuff on the calendar that meant I had to do my commute twice instead of just going back to bed. I think I could've done better but it was a decent run.
Saw Indy on the big screen/35mm tonight for the first time and in addition to obviously looking and sounding gorgeous, it was SO FUN to see in a warm, all-ages crowd! Good laughs including my past-life cameo.
My OB, aka my new best friend, sent me home after today's appointment with instructions to "go get yourself a doughnut." 🫡
Have been reading Nancy Lemann and dreamt last night I was back in New Orleans.
I* love and feel seen by this one! *a person who called my cat, named Poe, "Doodoe" this morning for complex but very real etymological reasons
incredibly fun one today from Garrett Mostowski!! https://www.havehashad.com/5sfwn
"She says the goal is not to outsource our feelings to a landform. Easy for her to say. She has a face like a retired planet." 🌑
"My therapist says I need a healthier way to process my anger, so I purchase a personal volcano online. Outer insulation. Apartment scale. Sweet pick, the seller writes..." Today, @sarpsozdinler.bsky.social offers a tender and furious new piece. Don't miss "My Personal Volcano," now on hex! 🌋👇🌋
