A six year old at camp this past week talked about asking Gemini to tell him a story, and a tiny part of my soul died, so +1 to this post from me, a childfree person trying real f*ckin hard to help children grow up to be decent human beings.
Glad someone had posted about this before so that I could ID it as a scam. And even if it weren't, asking ME to pay YOU for an author event is 🚩🚩🚩 -- i had to pay $50 for one of my bookstore events and barely broke even. $150 to show up on Zoom!? That's 100% bullshit, whether human or AI.

Another day, another contact that might be genuine and might be a scam. There's a Meetup page, but I don't know if that means anything, and the events they have up are all for literary, not genre.
