SMB2 but its the vertical progression where you get levels and armor and weapons to upgrade your stats and attain infinite growth
Nintendo did not choose a "random" game to become the western Mario 2. According to @winwinirwin.bsky.social's great SMB2 book, Doki Doki Panic began as a prototype for a Super Mario Bros. sequel focused on block-stacking and vertical progression. more: thrillingtalesofoldvideogames.com/m4#50

Deltarune Chapter 5 has more unused tracks in the game files. I'm sure these have been found by now, but they are only briefly mentioned in TCRF and aren't fully documented. A DARK ZONE has the little pumpkin guys show up :) and 3rd Sanctuary has a playable chart
Ive been away playing deltarune (and doing other things) but ive played it now and I have So Many Thoughts

I think my most controversial game development opinion is that developers should be allowed to patch any bug out regardless of how deeply engraved it is in the community. Even if it's fun it can sometimes be more hassle than it's worth.
Spent the day walking in circles. Literally. I don't know what was up with me but I actually just spent the day pacing around objects.
He won't post about it, but my friend made the art for this, and it's genuinely amazing Please check it out! www.youtube.com/watch?v=NJOC...

Now that NML 1.5 is out I wanted to share my favorite feature I developed for this update
No Man's Land - The Friendship Update, out NOW. Discover ancient secrets, explore forgotten places, and meet eccentric friends. Because to write your own story, you need to know where it's being written. Building the future and keeping the past alive are one and the same. youtu.be/4Te06z8C44o?...

Hey... Can you hear me? Are you okay? You seemed pretty out of it.
Reliable(ish) faster than boat travel with Sulfur Cubes Top speed I managed to reach with no wind charges is 101.22 m/s but it will decelerate to around 50 after 1000 blocks or so without more accelerators. Full video tomorrow on how I did it (it's extremely unethical) #Minecraft #ChaosCubed
Preliminary Chud Cube testing is going well, we have stable(ish) monorails #Minecraft #ChaosCubed
I don't post here enough, but as of late I've been busy. Things have slowed down now, and I can't wait to post about my work when it comes out... hopefully soon
I don't think it's inherently unethical to make a game with superficial gambling fixtures but part of me feels a little sad that the platonic ideal of the "forevergame", a game you can buy once and get unlimited entertainment out of, is shaping out to be "slot machine but you have infinite quarters"
Balatro. Clover Pit. Raccoin. Gambling-themed roguelikes have been helping indie devs hit the jackpot in recent years. But what does the blurring line between gaming and gambling say about modern game design? We asked a bunch of experts, including the developer who arguably started the whole trend.
