Happy belated pub day to Cats People by @tanyaguerrero.bsky.social! This heartfelt, multi-POV read left me teary-eyed. Cat, a stray in Brooklyn, is a standout narrator—her perspective feels so authentic. A must-read for cat lovers. #booksky #catlovers #catsky
Happy Book Birthday to my adult debut, and the book of my heart, Cat’s People! 😻😻😻
Z & I say happy pub day to @tanyaguerrero.bsky.social and her adult debut, CAT’S PEOPLE! For anyone who is looking for a hopeful, warm story centered around cats (who isn’t), acts of kindness and community, this is a must read! Link to buy below!
Current Read: Cat’s People by @tanyaguerrero.bsky.social. This beautiful novel follows five strangers who bond over a fateful summer—all thanks to a very special stray cat named Cat. Now, if Azzie ever gets off the book, I might actually get to read it. #booksky
It’s less than 2 months until Cat’s People comes out into the world! This is your last chance to preorder a copy or two at 25% off. Head on over to Barnes & Noble from February 5-7 and use the code: PREORDER25
Clearly, Crenshaw is silently plotting my murder after this utter humiliation. 😅😅😅
If you’d like a lovely distraction, you’re welcome to stare back at Fritos and his intensely orange gaze.
“Here A.S.P.C.A. men have to chisel out a couple of bricks to save a kitten.” From the book Cats Cats Cats Cats Cats Cats by John R. Gilbert, 1961.
Ahhh. The look of pride on his face. 🤣🤣🤣
Proud. 🏆 Photo from my collection, ca. 1970s.
I’m weak, okay? If you post about cats or have cats somewhere on your bio, I will most likely follow you. 😽
Whoa. Woke up to a ton of new followers. Hey, ya’ll! I guess I should re-introduce myself. I’m an author based in the Philippines with too many (well, not really) rescue cats. My adult debut, Cat’s People, pubs on April 1, 2025. Oh, and there’s an ongoing ARC giveaway on Goodreads you can join! 😺
Dipping my toes back here again. Are most of the publishing folks here now?
@tanyaguerrero.bsky.social has penned a tale of a small black cat who tugs on the strings connecting him to 5 strangers, weaving a tapestry of community & found family. Mark your calendars for 4/1/25 (no joke). #TanyaGuerrero #CatsPeople #foundfamily #community #NetGalleyARC #readitinonesitting
The cat’s out of the bag! Finally, I get to announce my adult fiction debut, CAT’S PEOPLE. Huge thanks to my agent, Amy Bishop-Wycisk, and my amazing editor Anne Speyer, for loving my book from the get go. I cannot wait for you to meet Cat, Núria, Collin, Omar, Bong and Lily in 2025!
Rewatching Pushing Daisies with kiddo. It’s really such a shame the show only lasted two seasons.
In book related news, something potentially exciting kicked off this week. Wish me luck! 🤞🤞🤞
The way my kitten looks at me whenever I take her off my lap to get up and do something.
Watched The Breakfast Club with my 13-year-old, and at the end, she proclaimed that Brian was super cute and that she didn’t get why he was the nerd/dork. 13-year old me had a crush on Bender, but now I totally agree with my kid. Brian was cute!
Is there a weekly rights report round up for adult fiction book deals like there is for kidlit?
3. Another small thing that adds up: write reviews, esp on Amazon. The *number* of Amazon reviews affects how much our books are promoted/recommended, so you can make a huge difference to us. The length of the review doesn’t actually matter to the algorithms, so write anything. It truly helps.
1. Don’t use piracy sites. Ever. Yes, I’ve heard all the rationalizations, but, bottom line, piracy sites are putting writers out of business. There’s almost nothing we can do to stop them all...but you can, by not using them.
*waves* Hi friends, professional writer person here. Even for mid-list, mid-career authors, things are pretty bad right now. A lot of my colleagues are looking for day jobs & cutting back/quitting creative writing. Soooooo…I present: 3 free things you can do to help writer whose work you like.
So I saw a post on the other app showing a really cute cat scene from Suits, and I decided to try watching the first episode. Now I’m hooked. 😅😅😅
Heads-up for anyone who wants to help the Maui Humane Society, apparently they're in desperate need of pop-up crates and air kennels rn: https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/1817BTQ5MWOOG?ref_=wl_share&fbclid=IwAR1uDdzNqDVbST0o8DZktQQnnImY3v0UkgYgOW6yQP1SQRzNwc8CygvUAz8 (h/t JRo)
