What an honor to have one’s poetry received in such a meaningful and contemplative way. I’m deeply touched.💛💛💛
And then for our lectio divina practice, we read “The Cost of Compliance” by @jempoetry.bsky.social. Thank you to @uncertainweather.bsky.social for choosing the song and the text, and for reading so beautifully for us tonight. 🙏🏼❤️🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️
Hoping to stream it live today on Delaware Poets Almanac FB, but it will also be recorded.
Some lucky person will go home from Sunday’s poetry reading with one of these fall bouquets from Flowers by Jake Mackey over on FB
Next up in our Mountain Voices memories is Linda Blaskey, a Delaware Masters Fellow in Poetry I’m fortunate to call a mentor and friend. I love the family stories rural folks carry into their poems. Here’s Linda reading at the Biggs. Join us Sunday, Oct. 18, at the DE Ag Museum!

If I seem absent, please understand it’s because I’m busy, busy! #Cyanotype bookmarks. Just one of the things you can take home from our poetry reading on Sunday! I didn’t realize I had different types, so the day was filled with wind, experimenting, and getting drenched. 🙃
A few years ago, four poets gathered at the Biggs Museum for Mountain Voices. I’ll be sharing recordings, starting with my dear friend Jim Bourey, the only one of us to return to our beloved mountains. Jack will read Jim’s poetry Sunday at the Ag Museum. Come sit a spell! 😊 RSVP link 1st comment.

If the sky had a bellybutton…. Tonight’s sky doesn’t look like the rain they predict. My sincerest apologies to #BlueSkyArtShow #Weather I seriously thought yesterday was Saturday! Sorry for showing up to the party early 💛
One last #Weather. This was the view from the farm where I spent my first 21 years. You can watch the shadows from clouds move across land and forest. If you ever visit it, say hello to my heart that still wanders the hills. #BlueSkyArtShow #ECK #Pennsylvannia
I can feel and smell this picture. I’m not sure how to describe the smell, but IYKYK.

When the nor’easter rolled into town. The clouds reminded me of waves. Like the water couldn’t decide if it belonged to the sky or ground. #BlueSkyArtShow #Weather #ECK

If Trump loses West Virginia, it’s really over. “Right now, we’re broke. We don’t even have money for gas.” “I love Donald Trump. He shouldn’t promise people things that he ain’t going to do, though, you know?”
So…I finished it today! Tanglewood, home of Tanzy the woodland fae who builds her dwelling from treasures the forest has shed. Finding art in the oft overlooked things, she reminds us that beauty doesn’t require perfection.
A new gold statue showing Donald Trump, naked and balanced atop the back of a meek man, has been unveiled today in the European Parliament building in Strasbourg. The eight-foot installation, titled The Orange Plague, is attributed to "The King of Injustice."
