Update on my husband getting a rolling stop ticket: A student’s dad is an attorney and is fighting it for free. Yall have no idea how incredibly generous this is for teachers (or anyone, really). 😭 I am ending this week on a note of extreme gratitude!
Well, every last cent I have in savings is now gone. This year has been an expensive year! Fridge acquired, and will be eating ramen for a week 😆

Came home to a letter in the mail telling us our property taxes are increasing by $151/month. Our escrow (prop taxes and home insurance combined) are now almost the same price as our mortgage payment. No one warned me about adulthood and I’m almost 40 lololol
Had a coworker ask how my week has gone, and I ended up just melting down and walking away. I never cry at work. Next thing I know, they come in with a gift bag. Be the kindness someone needs today.
Yall teach your elementary school kids to be accepting. My 7 year old spent hours spiraling today because he’s being told he’s a gross, disgusting boy. He’s just trying to make friends, FFS.

Few days ago, my husband had car issues (same day he got the ticket). Found out he needed: New battery, new radiator, new tires, alignment adjustment, new rotors/brake pads. He thought he was being swindled by the trusted mechanic we've used for YEARS who we love. --
things I didn't have on today's bingo card: 1) It was not the car battery, so now car is a the mechanic's 2) hubby got a ticket for a rolling stop so now we have that to deal with (his fault totally, I'm just venting) 3) My cousin (once? twice? removed) just got shot/killed by police.

Any mechanics in here? Is autozone a reliable place to get a new battery? I’ve seen mixed reviews. My husbands car battery died today (or is in the process of being on its last leg, so we think). Or should we just go to our mechanic
Still sick, apparently it’s a sinus infection. Love it when my dentist calls doctors idiots and prescribes me the right medicine (according to him) to help. Lord have mercy I am soooooo over being sick! I have socket gremlins trying to push out my eyeball!

So, story time. I had a 7yr addiction o Afrin that started in middle school (yes, you read that right) and now I do my absolute best to avoid it. But I am on day 7 of a cold that has absolutely blocked my nose 100%. I'm getting to a point where I just want to squirt Afrin up my nose and be done.

IDK who purchased the storage cabinet from my classroom wishlist, but THANK YOU SO INCREDIBLY MUCH! Mine has bit the dust (I'm sure it was at least 50 years old). This will be a huge help to store supplies and minimize theft (and yes...coworkers do steal stuff from my room!)

made a spreasheet of my bills. If I add in my kids' music lessons, I'll be $4 in the negative every month, with no $ to pay for museum/zoo memberships next year. This factors in the "raise" NC is giving us. I really just wish teachers got paid a little more. I don't feel like we're asking a lot 😭
