Dec. 11, 2023 | Day 1
At 5 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 11, 2023, RIDOT closed
the westbound side of the Washington Bridge. Agency officials said they had discovered the “critical failure of some original bridge components from the 1960s.”
Dec. 13, 2023 | Day 3
RIDOT released the most recent inspection report of the Washington Bridge, which was completed that summer.
dec. 14, 2023 | Day 4
RIDOT Director Peter Alviti told reporters during a news conference that he believed an abnormally heavy load crossing the bridge snapped the anchor rods and weakened the overall structure.

If you’re seeing “Invalid handle” under your username, it’s easy to fix. 1) Make sure you have verified your email. 2) Go to Settings -> Change my handle -> Type in your current handle -> Save Might take min to update. Or just close and reopen the app.
