Climate-driven shifts aren't just happening at the surface. Using 26 years of data, we show that deep-water sharks and chimaeras are moving northward into Arctic waters🦈 Their prey are moving too, suggesting that the entire deep-sea community is on the move. Read it here👉 doi.org/10.1371/jour...
Lots of fun attending Sharks International 2026 and meeting both familiar and new faces☀️ Thanks to everyone who listened to my speed talk on spiny dogfish tracking 🦈
We went to @sharks-int.bsky.social in the beginning of the month! Lots of cool, interesting, and inspiring science related to sharks, rays, skates, and chimaeras!! Read our summary here www.bergentelemetry.com/post/sharks-...
As #SI2026 comes to a close, sincere thanks to everyone who made the conference possible and meaningful. This conference would not have been possible without the collective effort of so many dedicated people working together! #SI2026 #SriLanka #SharksInternational2026
@lottesdahlmo.bsky.social at #SI2026 : Climate change impacts how much oxygen is in seawater, which impacts spiny dogfish sharks in Norwegian Fjords. They can’t enter their preferred deeper habitats because of low oxygen levels.
Big news! A major investment through the Canada Foundation for Innovation will support the renewal and upgrade of key OTN infrastructure—enhancing tracking of marine animals & monitoring of ocean conditions, while advancing Canada’s leadership in ocean science. Read more: www.dal.ca/news/2026/03...

New paper - improving the eel migration route in a hydropower regulated river
Our new paper on downstream migration of European eel (Anguilla anguilla) is out, and the main finding is surprisingly simple: a small tweak to a hydropower intake can make a big difference for eel su...

New paper 🚨 Retrofitting Fosstveit hydropower station with an inclined rack + surface bypass increased survival of downstream-migrating European eels from ~50–70% to 100% reaching the river mouth. Promising solution for this critically endangered species. onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/pdf/10.1...
I think this must've been the craziest thing I've experienced in field!!😱😍🦈
We’ve completed our second season with chimaera tagging! And we caught something very cool 👀🦈 Curious about what? Find out here www.bergentelemetry.com/post/trackin... #SOSF_GhostTrack #NFR_PUFFINS
