Amazing how the US natural gas market remains insulated from all the geopolitical chaos & volatility wreaking havoc with EU natgas & global LNG. Growth in US LNG exports will change that, but to be honest I thought it would have already done so (US already dominates global supply)
US natural gas futures approached $3/MMBtu, a near 5% increase, even as LNG flows through the Strait of Hormuz collapsed by 95%. exchange.energyflux.news/t/us-gas-be...
It certainly hasn’t peaked, but Asian LNG demand will fall far short of industry outlooks and forecasts.
Asian LNG demand is projected to weaken in 2026, impacting import volumes. This outlook suggests a slowdown in growth for the region's liquefied natural gas market. exchange.energyflux.news/t/asian-lng...

In response to Iranian attacks on US airbases, the Pentagon launched what it described as “heavy” strikes on Iran, but were in fact a resumption of attacks on military installations which they’d already admitted were no longer working.
US launches 'heavy' strikes on Iran after attempted attack on American troops
After a short period of relative calm when hostilities were paused, both sides have now restarted missile attacks.

This is so incredibly weak. Ukraine war is into its fifth year and still the EU can’t sanction Russian LNG without cutting its nose to spite its face.
The European Union has exempted Russian liquefied natural gas (LNG) from its sanctions regime, underscoring the bloc's ongoing struggle to reconcile geopolitical aims with energy security. exchange.energyflux.news/t/eu-russia...

Freeport must be the most unreliable US LNG export project in operation today. Endless trips and outages
Freeport LNG experienced an operational trip on Thursday afternoon, introducing volatility to US feedgas nominations. This event occurred despite increased activity at other export terminals which maintained an upward trend in national demand. exchange.energyflux.news/t/freeport-...

NEW 💥 How the sun rewrote Pakistan’s LNG strategy 💥 Europe’s 2022 gas grab taught Pakistan long-term contracts don't guarantee supply. Consumers 'fixed' blackouts with 50 GW of solar. The result? A paradox: Pakistan is short of LNG today, contractually long to 2030. ✍️ by sebkennedy.bsky.social
No sh*t. Qatar's sales pitch is reliability, and Hormuz has destroyed that. Doha still insists on imposing rigid contractual constraints (no destination flex), so something's gotta give.

How high can it go? EU gas prices surge above €50 as markets finally reflect the reality that Hormuz won’t ever return to pre-war free passage. What’s amazing is it took so many months to get to this place.
TTF gas prices edge towards €55/MWh as Middle East LNG supply faces headwinds. The benchmark's move reflects market apprehension over transit risks in key shipping corridors, particularly the Strait of Hormuz. exchange.energyflux.news/t/ttf-gas-p...
It is also severely hurting LNG demand outlooks across emerging Asia — the exact same economies that were supposed to underwrite the next wave of LNG project investments into the 2030s.
Asian LNG buyers are reassessing procurement strategies and seeking alternative routes amid rising tensions in the Strait of Hormuz. The geopolitical climate is prompting a shift in how these major energy consumers manage their oil and gas imports. exchange.energyflux.news/t/asian-buy...

Iran war delays but does not end looming LNG glut - Gas Outlook
Supply outages from the Persian Gulf have pushed up prices. But the LNG glut is still expected to arrive later this decade, complicating commercial case for new terminals.
