I want to add on to what I posted earlier. I’m not saying creating, staffing, running and maintaining such a safety/moderation organization is easy. But my concern is we’re all just kinda okay with things and that’s fine until something happens and then we won’t be okay with things. #compsplatoon

I really do agree with a lot of these points. We can't drive without a seatbelt and expect to be okay during a crash. Decentralizing any sort of moderation and community bans can only work for so long before miscommunication occurs or nothing happens. 1/🧵 #compsplatoon

Hey #compsplatoon serious conversation we need to have about Splat Safety Commission (SSC) But first some context. In October if you don’t know SSC wanted to change over their staff. A complete turn over from old to new. But this was only ever sent out via email. 🧵1/?

I mostly agree with Rynn here, an org to help with safety/moderation would go a long way since SSC has disappeared. sendou.ink and tournament staff have done a great job so far at kind of doing this but I am personally a little concerned if something big happens again and 1/ 🧵

If the Splat Safety Council is reviewed i firmly believe the community needs to come together and make a social contract. We can set the terms for participating in our community. If we think the council made a bad we can have petition mechanisms. #compsplatoon

Can we stop using LARPing as a synonym for "posing" or "fraud". People who LARP in real life are actually really cool, they are getting their hands on experience with something they enjoy and that's cool. Giving LARPing a negative connotation is not cool

ya know for having only commentated twice, I'm pretty damn happy with how my casts have been. I feel pretty comfortable I feel I can stay on top of and even sometimes a head of the action. Can even give a decent if rudimentary analysis of whats going on.

We need a new tournament that is cast exclusively by: a person who has no idea what Splatoon is AND a drunk splatoon player #highdivsplatoon #compsplatoon
