I’m ok. Make no mistake: this is an attempt to target political enemies and weaponize federal law enforcement. For ten years, Trump has targeted me with baseless lies and smear campaigns. This is just the latest escalation in his campaign of political intimidation. I will not be silenced.

The replicability issue is foundational to my objection to LLM use in research. The temperature variable definitionally introduces randomness to outputs, and the fact that a given prompt does not generate an identical output every time means no procedure using them can reliably control variables.

Things Gavin Newsom has vetoed this week: -A ban on secretly recording people with smart glasses -A ban on ICE agents working for the state government -A ban on websites selling your data -A bill giving native tribes more say over water rights -A bill protecting transgender healthcare providers

I have blamed The agents That hacked Your website And which You probably Reasonably thought I controlled Forgive me I am rich And unaccustomed To taking responsibility

The literacy crisis is not just referring to people's ability to literally read and write. It's also people's inability to read for context. I've been a public educator for over 20 years and I have never, ever seen it this bad.

You’re right—that plane shouldn’t have gone there. That’s my fault, and I should have made sure there wasn’t a terminal in the landing path. Would you like me to call emergency services, or assist with lining up takeoffs?

This should be the takeaway from Markey's win. Not that an older candidate bucked a trend by beating a younger one. That the candidate who stood up for a marginalized community in an uncompromising way won in dominant fashion. I really love my state.

… for the trans community. What it meant to be seen and supported unconditionally from a politician. They talked about all the politicians who turned away once it felt hard. Who were willing to sacrifice the safety of trans youth, and how Markey refused to do so. I was weeping. 2/

FACT OF THE DAY. 1 September 1939. German armed forces invaded Poland to begin the Second World War in Europe. The attack came without any declaration of war by Germany though it had been obvious since March 1939 that Poland was Hitler’s next military target.

OpenAI and Sam Altman have always wanted complete regulatory and paradigmatic capture, at the state, federal, and cultural levels; their meddling in Illinois state politics comes as no surprise and should be viciously and tenaciously fought.

The ChatGPT-maker testified in favor of an Illinois bill that would limit when AI labs can be held liable—even in cases where their products cause “critical harm.” www.wired.com/story/openai...

And the discourse is always what the victims did or didn’t do, what the people who knew did or didn’t do, never about what he CHOSE to do or his AUDACITY in thinking he could do it and keep it secret and continue on with anything he wanted. It’s maddening.

The famous Andor line is that "tyranny requires constant effort. It breaks, it leaks. Authority is brittle." Here is a perfect example of that through malicious compliance: Idaho forced the city of Boise to remove its Pride flags. So the city painted rainbows everywhere else.

Boise took its Pride flag down. But new art has popped up at City Hall. What it cost

“The flag is not our only form of expression,” a Council Member previously said.
