We serve as the permanent diplomatic representation of the European Union to the Council of Europe. We represent the interests of the EU and its 27 Member States in the Council of Europe (CoE) while joining forces with CoE bodies and institutions.

🎥 The stage is set for the 2026 State of the European Union debate. Join us on Wednesday 16 September at 09:00 CET to hear Commission President Ursula von der Leyen take stock of the past year and set out the EU’s priorities for the year ahead.

35 years of restored independence. Ukraine’s spirit is heroic, unbreakable, and indestructible. We stand united with Ukraine. With over €220 billion mobilised in overall support, our commitment to Ukraine's sovereignty is absolute. Ukraine’s security is Europe’s security.

Paying tribute to the brave people of Ukraine who fought tirelessly for their independence. And to those who stand strong today, defending their homeland on the front line and across Ukraine. Your courage and bravery inspire the world.

Just arrived in Kyiv for the 35th anniversary of Ukraine’s Independence Day. Proud to be here on such a significant day, underscoring the EU’s unwavering support. Ukraine is a free and brave nation. Its struggle is also our struggle. З Днем незалежності, Україно!

On Ukraine’s Independence Day, we show our unfaltering support. Today, we approved €6.1 billion for the air and missile defence systems, missiles, ammunition and radars that Ukraine urgently needs. Europe stands with you today, tomorrow, and for as long as it takes. З Днем Незалежності!

Russia's slowest territorial advance in 3 years (just a few sq km in May 2026) came alongside its most intense bombardment since March 2022: 8,351 strikes on Ukrainian cities. 274 civilians killed, 1,763 injured - the highest toll since April 2022. When Russia can't advance, it terrorises.

The Council has renewed the EU economic sanctions against Russia until 31 July 2027. These sanctions target Russia's financial, trade, energy, transport, technology and defence sectors, as well as services provided to Russia or to Russian nationals. 🔗 link.europa.eu/36RYPY

🇦🇲 Dear Nikol Pashynian, congratulations on your electoral victory. The spirit of the Velvet Revolution you led in 2018 is alive and well. We deeply value our partnership with a democratic Armenia that is drawing ever closer to Europe. Armenia can count on us.

Now more than ever, the rule of law matters. It protects everyday life by ensuring fair rules & accountability – from home rentals to job contracts or public speech. As the rule of law comes under pressure, we must protect it to ensure people’s rights are respected. 🔗https://link.europa.eu/7MHF6T

Moldova is advancing steadily on its European path. We will continue to strengthen 🇪🇺🇲🇩 collaboration in the areas of education, employment and social policies, which are crucial for Moldova's reform efforts and its aspirations to join the EU. 🔗 link.europa.eu/4MxFWB

Russia’s war of aggression has crossed yet another line. A Russian drone incursion struck a densely populated area in Romania, injuring civilians. On EU territory. We stand in full solidarity with Romania and its people.
