If you think this is just the AfD you are kidding yourself. Russia has been actively astroturfing the far right in Europe and US for over a decade, far left too. They’ve managed to bend the minds of a large number of politicians and media hacks too who confuse X and similar social media for reality

Britain’s worst-kept political secret
In the observer; Andy Burnham has said "UK authorities are “clear” that there was Russian interference in the Brexit vote: this is the first time a prime minister has confirmed Kremlin involvement in the 2016 referendum." Finally.... What we all knew...
All thanks to the tireless work of @peterjukes.bsky.social @carolecadwalla.bsky.social @bylinetimes.bsky.social who were ignored for years, and in Carole’s case hounded through the courts for years. I’m glad the PM is at last speaking the truth; but the real heroes surely deserve a Pulitzer!

Andy Burnham confirms what previous PM's - May, Johnson, Truss, Sunak and Starmer - failed to, that Russia interfered in the Brexit referendum.

Everybody knew Russia interfered in the Brexit referendum - the evidence was there - but people were too afraid of Farage’s mob to say it. So it’s good to see Burnham finally speaking the truth.

That they have managed to go ahead despite the degree of condemnation on the ethics of the study is scary. Not just the HHS, it’s specifically the Danish researchers that persisted with the study irrespective of the Helsinki Declaration, that beggars belief.
Exclusive: The leaked protocol of the CDC-funded Hepatitis B vaccine trial in Guinea-Bissau. “This is another Tuskegee.”
The protocol reveals that the trial will withhold the Hepatitis B birth dose from thousands—without placebos, without universal maternal screening, and with endpoints critics call indefensible.

From threatening lives at sea to those with cancer, there are no groups of people these thugs won’t harm. They are not “protecting” anyone. It is u clear why they are being policed with kid gloves.
Police in Bristol said they asked organisers of a far-right protest in city centre to move it or reschedule, because the big Shine Night Walk big cancer charity 10K fundraising walk of 2,000 people - mainly women - was planned for Friday night. Police confirmed the group refused, so walk postponed.

In case anyone was wondering what force is motivating the Trump administrations actions towards African nations, it’s racism. Pure, simple, unalloyed racism-from the slashing of USAID to this monstrous trial, the aim is the deaths and disablement of Africans. Utter horror
“The children who are randomly selected not to receive the birth dose of the vaccine, those who “lost the lottery”, face in their earliest days the risk of contracting hepatitis B, which can cause irreversible lifelong damage.” No words. I am speechless. This violates all ethical boundaries.

This trial violates many ethical rules and principles set out in the Declaration of Helsinki. The welfare of participants has to be the highest priority of the trial, where effective therapies exist one cannot use placebo as control. This should be condemned by the Danish Medical Association.

Also, just a reminder that RFK Jr made it a point to travel to Samoa, where he stoked anti-vax fears, in the months leading up to a major outbreak, that led to 83 deaths, mostly babies and children.

No country has ever walked this path as a former member, already closely aligned and sharing the EU’s values. With the political will, Britain could be back at the table within a single parliament.
Most animal species pack sperm DNA with protamines instead of histones. Protamines are essential for male fertility. They are among the fastest-evolving genes in animals. That makes little sense. We think we know why, in a new paper led by @ching-hochang.bsky.social. www.science.org/doi/10.1126/...
Rapid protamine evolution suppresses meiotic drive in Drosophila

Trump has been hiding his Russian diesel deal for over a month: the deal was announced yesterday, but it was likely agreed when Witkoff and Kushner visited the Kremlin on 5th September. While Trump was signing the Lindsey Graham Sanctioning Russia and Iran Act of 2026 on 18th September,…
1/ Trump's fuel deal with Russia will have two big advantages for Russian refinery operators, according to a Russian energy expert: it will help them to fund their own anti-drone defences, and also help to clear out their stocks of summer diesel in time for winter. ⬇️
The first Russian diesel cargo heading for the US left St Petersburg on September 22, two weeks *before* Trump announced the deal with Putin, Windward reports. The Greek-flagged tanker Minerva Zen carrying 275,000 barrels of diesel/gasoil is due at the US East Coast around 11–12 October.
Bloody wokerati, objecting to the age-old 'good chaps' tradition of marking your own homework. "No laws were broken." "According to your mates." Reform UK's Jaymey McIvor, laughed at and mocked by fellow panelists over an internal party investigation into whether it breached electoral law. 😂
The EU's Kaja Kallas: “Suspending sanctions on Russian diesel provides Moscow with more revenues to wage war. “This is not the time to ease pressure on Russia, and Europe won’t.
If anything, this understates the consistency of the policy, and how much it is driven by Trump's personality. Trump has consistently been a simp for Putin.
I don't see anything erratic here. For over a decade, Trump has prioritised "getting along with Russia"; since 20 January 2025, Trump administration policy has reflected that priority. It's perhaps the most consistent aspect of Trump foreign policy. 🧵on Trump and sanctions.

When I say the politics will become increasingly obvious... I mean look at this. If you want to unite the left/centre and split the Tories, without a big spending committment there's no better option.
On the substack this week.... I looked at the route back into the EU. It's going to become increasingly obvious that the politics works for a manifesto pledge. What are the barriers? What would a negotiation look like? How might another referendum play out? samf.substack.com/p/the-route-...
