There is a very tricky line to hold between 'enough detail I enjoyed painting him' to 'but I would need to paint 80 of him for an army' and Victoria Miniatures aaalways test my resolve on those diminishing returns... bloody nice sculpts, though!

I picked up a load of #28mm European buildings from Empires at War which arrived a couple of days ago. Pre coloured MDF, 17 ordered, 2 put together, just over an hour on each. Very nice straight out of the bag. #wargames #wargaming #hobby #history

I was inspired by the blu ray extras of @realgdt.bsky.social The Shape of Water. I saw the artist working on the creature suit, explaining how he was painting it with dots, and I had to try and replicate it in miniature. This is the result. ☺️ (More below 🧵)

I really like that the Dead Man's Hand mounted gunfighters are essentially the same kit as the regular blokes, with the legs, coats, and a couple of weapon poses changed to fit on horseback. All the weapons and such double up so you can make the 'same' guy on foot and mounted.
