TFW you spend a week grabbing five and ten minutes to make a model like this, out of cardboard & paint, & then you read that google maps now lets people fabricate completely false satellite images for some reason. Starting to feel there’s people who dont get why that’s bad & people who make things.

Mostly been a spreadsheets day today (boooo) but I have been working on a model bog, as you do. Think it’s gonna be pretty useful.

“As everyone knows, the patterns on a frog’s skin prevent them from being too large, and the frog wives give permission to find and use a frog skin amulet. Preparing the body of a dead frog in the correct manner will allow the witches to ward off their huge size, and wear the frog skin as a cape”

Enjoying working with this upcycled disposable lens. You have to really crank down the exposure after the fact, but that in itself makes for some lovely stuff. The real treasure is figuring this stuff out and transferring it to other things. Doing and then figuring stuff out is really important.

It's #FiveEvil Friday! This was one of the first things we released for FiveEvil: Fiendish 5E Horror. It shows that when we reworked 5E's rules, we went for the throat. It's not D&D adventure, it's FiveEvil horror. It's still 5E. If you've played D&D, you'll learn this in no time. But it's scarier.

I’d written a much longer thread about this topic but short version: I think making creative photos of your miniatures using some scenery and backdrops, and doing as much as possible “in camera” is very satisfying, authentic and wholesome. There's something about things you can hold in your hand.

Just some of the scenes you can take with a camera phone, some terrain and a @handiworkgames.bsky.social backdrop book. 🦋 No generative AI nonsense. 🦋 And it's fun to do! And [all the bad things about AI] aren't happening! Hooray!

So I thought that tonight I’d shoot the sunset on my real camera. Got really vexed because it just wouldn’t focus, even manually. Then realised I had this 13mm macro extension tube thing still attached. But hey. I’ll take it.

With all backer copies dispatched and having had at least 5 days head start, Trench Crusade Backdrop Books will go live on our webstore today! (Please note we no longer ship to the EU - it’s just not viable for us, but you should soon be able to get these titles from folks who do!)
