1/3 - The Lloyd George Society has also been made aware of the death of Prof. Huw Bowen. He was well known to members of the Lloyd George Society and the wider academic & political community. Huw was a professor of public history at Swansea University, among other university posts he held.
We are very sorry to hear the news of the death of Michael Meadowcroft on 1 June - author, activist, Liberal MP 1983-87, member of the Journal of Liberal History Editorial Board, a thoughtful and generous Liberal. We'll carry a full obituary in the summer issue of the Journal.
1/2 - It is with sadness that we have recently heard that Michael Meadowcroft, a friend and contributor of the Lloyd George Society over the years, died on Monday, aged 84. Michael was the former Liberal MP for Leeds West and a formidable Liberal thinker and figure.
