A new portrait of Istiodactylus, an Early Cretaceous pterosaur from the Isle of Wight. Previously thought of as a fish-eater, Isiodactylus was reinterpreted as a vulture-like scavenger in a 2012 study by Mark Witton. Procreate and Photoshop. No AI.

Ok… so I’m in negotiations with one of the BIG publishers to license one of my illustrations. Just two emails in and we’re already at the “this is a children’s book, so our budget is very limited” stage. Y’know what else is limited? My patience.

Yesterday I posted on Twitter in support of a transgender mutual. The replies I received overnight have been a tiny (and of course I mean *tiny*) insight into what they have to deal with every day. How they keep going in the face of such bigotry and hatred is beyond me. But they do. (1/2)

Bambiraptor feinbergi. Possibly a valid genus… possibly a juvenile Saurornitholestes. Possibly none of the above. I spent far too long on this one. I hope it was worth it 🫠 If the scientists could avoid reclassifying Bambi before people have seen this, I’d appreciate it. 😉 #SciArt
