four years later and I still think this is the best nonfiction piece I've ever written. I talked about the racial climate in America (largely New Orleans) that led to a Black vet going to war against the NOPD. Research required: 6 books, a plethora of 60s and 70s reporting, and a documentary.

Today, the Heritage Foundation, the org behind Project2025, took credit for driving Lonnie Bunch out the Smithsonian Institution. Bunch was the first African American and first historian to serve as head of the Smithsonian. But sure, tell me again how it’s not about racism.

Changes in staffing vary considerably by institution / region. The period 2018/19 to 2024/25 has seen a 25% (200 FPE) decline in History staff in Post-92 institutions. HESA regions with marked falls in staff for this period incl: South-East (-32%), East of England (-22%), Yorks & Humber (-18%) 2/3

Exciting to read about these plans. MASS Design Group designed the National Memorial for Peace and Justice (aka the Lynching Memorial) in Montgomery.
