My partner & I were trying to ID a bird we heard while walking and the guy who had stopped his car to let us pass got out and was like "it's a frog, actually. Cope's Gray. I do frog surveys... Sorry" And then got in his car without a word and drove off. Absolute king

Just reposting this which I think is the most gorgeous thing I have seen in my career - a critically endangered orange-bellied parrot feeding on a carpet of daisies after an ecological burn. This was the first time they’d had the chance to feed naturally in 15y and was wonderful to witness 😭😭😭🧡🧡🧡🧡

Turns out that flying London > Darwin + bus/ferry > Hobart, instead of flying all the way to Hobart, saves about 330 kg CO2 (including radiative forcing: the extra impact of emissions high in the atmosphere). Is 330 kg a lot? It’s 11% of the trip; also 9% of Sweden’s 2022 per capita emissions 😳
