Not sure if the story makes total sense, but I really liked the art and designs in Web of Blood

Heading out to #RCCC now. Gonna walk the floor for a couple hours then head home, I think

I'm wrapping The Power Fantasy #21 before I allow myself to nose at what the folks have been up to. Big ol' zine about The Power Fantasy, as folks spill their brains and hearts.

I, uh, contributed a lot to this issue. One essay, one flash fiction, three original art pieces, and the cover (!!)

TOMORROW! THE POWER CUT #3 The internet's finest fanzine for @imagecomics.com 's The Power Fantasy, by @kierongillen.bsky.social and @casparw.bsky.social (the comic not the zine), has done it again, but more so. To meet the quotation title/challenge "We Have To Be Better", it is our best yet.

We have JUST SOME ABSOLUTELY STUNNING ART IN THIS THING, HOLY CRAP, LIKE WOAH. Besides the art jam I've covered already, there's dynamite stuff from Jack Xi ( bread-into-toast.tumblr.com , Jason KJones @jasonkjones.bsky.social and Ferronickel ( ferronickel.tumblr.com ) .

We have MASUMI, with the wondrous @jasonkjones.bsky.social breaking down Masumi's design influences in a deep dive and also offering us flash fiction about her, plus several illustrations to boot, there's no stopping this one

Y’all remember Immortal Hulk? Damn, that’s a good series

Happy #PortfolioDay y'all. Need a cover drawn? Maybe an illustration for a zine? A sketch commission? I'm between real jobs right now, so I could use some extra work.

Man, I wasn’t super into this second volume of Ayodele’s Storm, but it’s incredibly shitty of Marvel to cancel the book with so little notice that Ayodele apparently didn’t have space in his script to write an actual ending. #XSpoilers

The joy of unfollowing a prolific poster whom you realize has reached a point of only annoying you when they pop up in your feed

I hate to beat a dead horse, but I really liked the last issue of Erica Schultz's Rogue miniseries up until she went back to Haven House and I was reminded of all the stuff going on there. Genuinely engaging quiet issue that whiffs in the epilogue because of weird pacing and art choices #XSpoilers

I don’t usually tag creators when I do fan art, but I’m proud of this one. @kierongillen.bsky.social @casparw.bsky.social

Just read Sofia Warren's memoir about her year embedded with a progressive state senator in New York. It's good! Gonna keep it in mind for next year for my high schoolers

Lots of people are abused by family members. This is not the deciding factor in them growing up to become right-wing grifters. What the fuck even is this plot line?

Just generally, I don't have any interest in making Ellis a complex villain. She's clearly playing on real world assholes who don't care about the damage they cause so long as they can accrue money and power. She had an abusive brother who was also a mutant? That's awful! She still sucks

Spent the last week working on my TPF fanart and am just now catching up on comics. First page of UXF reminds us that Warden Ellis, the anti-mutant podcaster, and Scurvy, a mutant, were dating. God, this book sucks sometimes. #XSpoilers
