I draw stuff & now I’m here & I don’t know why 🤔🫣

Above all, I hope we continue supporting one another as artists. Please give artists the chance to grow, experiment, and evolve before assuming the worst. Many of us have spent years—even decades—learning our craft, and a little kindness and trust can go a long way. ( c… )

I completely understand why people are cautious about AI, but I also hope we remember that trying a new style or rendering technique doesn't automatically mean AI was involved. False accusations can be incredibly discouraging for artists who have spent years developing their craft. ( c… )

I've also noticed other artists in this year's conbook receiving similar accusations, which is honestly disheartening. It can make trying new things feel risky when experimentation is met with suspicion instead of curiosity. ( c… )

For the conbook cover, my original concept was much simpler. I was asked to push it toward more of a "Hyena Agenda" style with a stronger cryptid aesthetic, so I challenged myself to create something that fit that vision while stepping outside my comfort zone. ( c…. )

I remember changing my style years ago and hearing that it "didn't look like my art." Growth as an artist can sometimes surprise people. ( c… )

One thing people may not know is that I've been intentionally pushing myself to improve. I've spent the last few years studying lighting, rendering, and different coloring techniques because I don't want my art to stay the same forever. ( c…. )

I've been drawing for many years, long before AI existed. Every sketch, editing choice, color, highlight, and shadow in the Anthrocon artwork was drawn and painted by me. ( c… )

I woke up today to find out that someone on ( X ) Twitter was claiming the conbook cover was AI-generated, and from there people started looking through my gallery and questioning other pieces—even simple T-shirt designs. I wanted to clear the air. ( c…. )

I hope everyone is having an amazing time at Anthrocon 2026! Unfortunately I couldn't make it this year, but I was incredibly honored to be part of the art staff and create artwork for such a special anniversary. ( c… )
