Found this an extremely insightful policy paper on how privatization of government programs (MA, Medicare D) is not just wasteful but also entrenches political power for health industry that stymies needed structural reforms. Highly recommended reading.

Every single step that the anti-science, anti-vaccine conspiracy theorist RFK Jr takes to dismantle the US medical, public health, & health research systems is incredibly painful & distressing This one would hit so hard Without the USPSTF, evidence-based screening & prevention would crumble 😢

Only in the US would an impasse over health insurance benefits drive teachers to strike. Health care is a universal public benefit in all high income nations and we are long overdue in US for Medicare for All. As a longtime San Franciscan, breaks my heart for our teachers and kids alike.

BREAKING: San Francisco public school teachers, counselors, and nurses have walked out on strike. 6,000 members of the United Educators of San Francisco are striking to fight for fully funded health care for their families and a raise to keep up with the Bay Area cost of living.

if a patient with opioid use disorder is admitted to ICU (eg for pneumonia) & they clearly tell you their dose of buprenorphine or methadone, we should just believe them and give it to them in my experience they’re always correct & delaying tx to try to verify their perscription just causes misery

Are you a PCP pulling your hair out trying to maneuver through maddening insurance and pharma barriers to getting your patients the medications they need? A 2 word solution: pharmacy technicians. Check out our study @annalsofem.bsky.social on the benefit of adding pharm techs to primary care teams👇

A new study just published in the @annalsofem.bsky.social (Sept/Oct 2025) shows that integrating pharmacy technicians in team-based primary care: - Reduces clinician and nurse admin burden - Improves efficiency & care - Expands patient medication access 👉https://www.annfammed.org/content/23/5/412

Since its inception, traditional Medicare has been tied to a fee-for-service model. As we mark its 60th birthday, Congress must devote political willpower to change this outdated model and reverse the erosion of America's health. From PCC's Ann Greiner:

Why a Hybrid Payment Model Offers Hope for Primary Care as Medicare Turns 60 - PCC

Sixty years ago, we relied on typewriters, rotary phones and slide rules to get work done. As we have replaced these tools with better, more advanced technology, our work environment has changed…
