you will encounter more opportunities in life to change the batteries on a smoke alarm than you will to run into a burning building and no one gives a shit you changed those batteries but it is still very important and why are you waiting on a burning building, know what i’m saying, it’s a metaphor

I do think I Was a Teenage Exocolonist is a very good game! Also while playing it I had a very painful emotional flashback & dissociated super hard for days after. I'm very aware it's meant to be played multiple times & playing again might improve my feelings around it but I simply will not.

Working on my relationship with my mom has meant digging up and wading through what feels like an ocean of loneliness I experienced as a kid. I find myself stuck in flashbacks of it almost every day. It sucks! I compartmentalized that shit for a reason!

Games You Should Play Before Playing Fiasco, in no particular order. * Play whatever you like * Even games that suck teach you stuff * Also play games that scare you sometimes * Distrust taste-makers * As a taste-maker I highly recommend Rusałka by Nick Wedig

I’ve thrown this at Austen scholars at @asecsoffice.bsky.social, at my students, at folks who don’t know Austen AT ALL, & memorably at the combined madcap glee of @nopunincluded.com @kierongillen.bsky.social @timclare.bsky.social. It’s the only game that led to wail in fury at my dearest friend. A+

Aldsworth, 1811 by @tenpenjenn.com is about five Regency women and the men they might marry - as ladies act to secure their futures in the countryside of Regency England, love is a luxury some cannot afford. It's all the crack! #TTRPGs #RPGs #games jennmartin.itch.io/aldsworth-1811

I have backed a lot of crowdfund campaigns and I know that shipping is expensive, but being asked to pay USD$70 to ship a game book, map & stickers (about USD$100) feels like a joke? I would pay USD$35 without grumbling! I don't understand why it's more than the base game cost!

It doesn't matter how you play 9 Space Games, there's always a non-zero chance of character death and zero chance of happily ever after. @jmstar.bsky.social you aren't paying me for marketing copy anymore, but you can have this one for free.

Not freeform as in Freeform Larp™️ (whatever that is lol), freeform as in 'play in 3rd person at a table, larp in 1st person, or somewhere in between, as your group chooses.'

Changing my personal definition of useful from 'useful to the institution of capitalism' to instead mean 'useful to the fabric of society (myself & other humans and my connections to them)' has been pretty great! I highly recommend considering who you are afraid of not being valuable to.

sorry to vaguesky but I saw someone whose work has meant quite a bit to me personally sharing that their accomplishments affirm, for them, only their own feeling of uselessness. In empirical fact when we feel useless it is an illusory feeling. we have to Internalize and know this.
