I did get to play Big Walk tonight and it's very charming and literally just what I want in a video game
I really want to play this game, but I need friends to play it with!

It doesn't matter how you play 9 Space Games, there's always a non-zero chance of character death and zero chance of happily ever after. @jmstar.bsky.social you aren't paying me for marketing copy anymore, but you can have this one for free.
Not freeform as in Freeform Larp™️ (whatever that is lol), freeform as in 'play in 3rd person at a table, larp in 1st person, or somewhere in between, as your group chooses.'

🔴🟡🔵 BIG WALK 🔴🟡🔵 Out now on Steam, Nintendo Switch 2, and PlayStation 5. Hooray!
Aaahhhhh one of my favorite authors (Becky Chambers) is coming to Chicago and I got tickets and I'm so excited!!!
I had a spectacularly bad work day yesterday and woke up at 3am this morning. Cute of Yesterday-Jenn to presume a corner had been turned. Therapy tomorrow is gonna be a full session 🫠
I've caught up on some emails and work I've been unable to touch for weeks (depressive episode? lupus flare? smoke inhalation? late stage capitalism? all of the above? who knows!) and it's a nice change.

This is really freaking cool!
You can read & print any of my zines for free at ZineBakery.com/homemade; they're all CC licensed if you want to remix/build on any, too. Catalog of ~400 of other folks' linked & described zines re:culture, craft, tech, and/or justice is at ZineBakery.com too 📚
Changing my personal definition of useful from 'useful to the institution of capitalism' to instead mean 'useful to the fabric of society (myself & other humans and my connections to them)' has been pretty great! I highly recommend considering who you are afraid of not being valuable to.
sorry to vaguesky but I saw someone whose work has meant quite a bit to me personally sharing that their accomplishments affirm, for them, only their own feeling of uselessness. In empirical fact when we feel useless it is an illusory feeling. we have to Internalize and know this.

A video game is making my joint pain in my hands worse, but I'm going to continue playing Cairn because it's very good. www.thegamebakers.com/cairn/

NarraScope 2026 talks are online, free to view, in record time! Here's the playlist, starting with the second keynote speech from @sharangbiswas.bsky.social. The other keynote was given by @meredithgran.com. I'll add thoughts on my favorite talks after I get a chance to view the ones I missed.

I started reading Strange Animals by @jarodkanderson.bsky.social before bed and have dreamt of strange animals two nights in a row. Last night was miniature flying turtles- much better than the night before with a monstrous horned black wolf!
Still thinking about this line from Christopher Morrison's Narrascope panel, Telling Conflict-Less Stories- Why is it easier to imagine the end of the world than the end of capitalism?

It turns out Narrascope is a bunch of thoughtful and smart people talking about stories and games and now I'm thinking in seventeen different wonderful, interesting directions at once. It ruined my weekend productivity, absolutely $40 well spent.
I think this is box #6 so far this year and my first with a drawer. I love the colors (the gold cook cloth came with the kit and I had the purple paper and silver book cloth in my stash)! This was a class from Herringbone Bindery called Fancy Clamshell.

I will never not be amused that the book titled Nine Space Games has, in fact, 10 games within its pages. I'm very excited for folks to get their hands on this book, Jason is very good at maximum fun in minimum time and it has sad robots!
Final edits from the amazing and talented @tenpenjenn.com are done, and NINE SPACE GAMES, our collection of 10 interconnected one-hour sci-fi games, will soon be on its way to the printer with a lovely Paul-Schuitema-inspired cover by @plakruslar.bsky.social and layout by @julienlegault.bsky.social.
Artemis 3 having zero women crew feels deeply reflective of the current political moment in the US and I hate it. Yes, there are still women on the ground team, but relying on women while keeping them behind the scenes so men can have all the fame and glory is still misogyny.
