Here's a Simpsons reference I didn't get til this week, even though it's from a S7 episode, Homer the Smithers, that I watched many times. It's part of the fast moving montage that gave us "I asked for light starch on my nightcap" and "you call this a supercomputer?" #simpsons #postum

In nonfic it can be useful to drop in occasional reminders of the fallibility of memory: "I dunno," X added. "I might be getting it wrong. It was a long time ago." Inoculating writer & reader against the illusion that everything is perfectly verifiable, even as we all do our best.

Having to now manually screen orders because of an influx of people buying our cheapest ebook to (most likely) test out stolen credit card numbers. If I don't screen, their bank holds us liable and charges me a scam penalty, which happened last week. WILD that this is how commerce works!

It is with a heavy heart that I put AMC A-list on ice in anticipation of my child's birth. Likely to be reinstated just in time for the 2029 release of The Super Mario Multiverse Movie, film's most ruthless reference machine yet

Recently I was on a podcast -- all went fine til the very end when they asked, "Anything else that you want people to know?" My brain went all cosmic zoom-out: Who am I to demand anyone know anything? LONG PAUSE full of hmms and stalling that I was sure they'd cut. They left it all in.

Genuinely inspired by how much of our stockpile of baby stuff is from friends a year or two ahead of us. Feels like community over capitalism. It'll be fun to pass it on to the next parents as Tiny Daughter grows up
