University leaders seem to forget that "the public" includes students, faculty, and staff who study and work at the institutions they lead. The "public" is not some external, amorphous thing to the university. If you can't treat the people on your campus with decency, then yeah, they won't trust you

AI is being pushed on everyone and used to reduce social trust and cohesion and increase suspiciousness and wear you down with trying to figure out what is slop and what is not and make you work harder to defend your non-slop work.

This is ridiculous, no one is safe. Artists Ive followed for actual decades are getting harassed because their work has been stolen and regurgitated.

As an online teacher, I would like it if zoom would just stay the same for at least a term. I have a muscle memory for how to do things, and then I look like an ass to trying to find things because they moved and it changed. It's not improved, mind you. I've yet to find the added stuff useful.

Care is expensive and isolation is ordinary. Capitalism leaves people desperate for connection, then sells them a simulation of it.
