I, being a black man who’s entire male line of relatives generally don’t make it to 60, had my midlife crisis @ 35. I gave up my high-powered job as the Admin Coordinator for the Dept of English & Comparative Literature at Columbia U & became a private catering chef. It was great…until COVID!

I did this during my first midlife crisis (at 40). It was me and a bunch of 17-23 year olds for a year. It was a blast, despite my classmates nicknaming me “Old Man Tim.” Now (at 50 next month) I’ve been puppet making which isn’t as exciting, but is easier on the body.
I am taking online courses to be a vet tech because I find my current data entry job unfulfilling and soul crushing. I am 54 years old.

I would have to disagree. 1) the better analogy would probably be shopping or slot machine gambling, not music 2) we already know that people would love to talk to their friends, but instead a huge percentage of the “people” we see on socials are just bots. We aren’t even seeing our friends!
