I don't understand why videos on Amazon are so memory intensive and usually refuse to play. You would think for a company that has like a bazillion dollars they would be able to make a video player that isn't absolutely terrible.

It's truly sad that golfers get millions for winning a single competition and lacrosse players are losing their teams. Sports is totally broken.
Black Bears and Wings have discontinued operations
Cornell attackmen (Pannell, Teat, Kirst) hold all but 1 attack record in the PLL. Single season goals/assists/points and career assists/points. The only record missing is career goals, but keep an eye on # 15. cc: @danarestia.bsky.social
Just a heads up. I was able to schedule my COVID vaccine appointment. Online it may ask “do you have a condition that puts you at high risk for severe outcomes from COVID-19 virus.” Click yes and it will allow you to schedule an appointment. No questions asked. No proof required. Pass it on.
@danarestia.bsky.social The PLL never listens to me, but I'm in favor of converting the Waterdogs into the Barrage. Kirst looks solid in orange.
@danarestia.bsky.social I think Brian Kelly is getting stiffed for now being considered a rookie. What's a rookie? If you have never played a game in the league, the year you start playing (your pro debut) is your rookie season? The reason doesn't matter. No?
@worldlacrosse.sport I have a suggestion that would make these events more effective. Take a page from pro golf and form an international team (non-USA, non-Canada). That way, results aren't so lopsided and players from developing programs have a chance to play with other high-level talent.
Do you know in the US, we have no medical records from when we were adolescents? That is so fucked up. (If you think we do, I challenge you to find them...you won't).
For the love of all that is good, I wish Node.js provided a YAML parser in stdlib!!! (I HATE dependencies, especially for stuff like this).
Unskippable ads are proof that humans are fundamentally evil (or at least humans that run media companies).
Can someone please explain to me how you can have an automated release if the package registry requires 2FA? How does a computer running remotely look at a phone on your desk and input the code displayed on the screen. Are we just doing away with automated releases? Is that what this is?
@chrisrosie22.bsky.social I have to admit, the WLL is very watchable when the league just lets them play, especially not enforcing that stupid illegal defense rule. The all-star game was particularly exciting. I still would like to see proper head & hand protection, but perhaps it will be organic.
Engagement on this platform is abysmal. I pretty much feel like I'm just speaking into a void.
You do not have to accept unskippable ads as part of life. No where is this written as a rule of the world we live in. Reject it. Outright reject it.
@danarestia.bsky.social I just listened to your return episode. First, really glad to have you back on the pod (with some great reporting in the interim). You are a bright spot of lacrosse analysis. No other way to put it.
@danarestia.bsky.social I really don't like the rule that you can call a timeout from the defensive end. I think it spoils the spirit of the ride. You should have to clear first.
I cannot understand why they ever lift the fire ban here in Colorado. As soon as they do, we have wildfires all over the place (and even when they don't). You just can't burn shit here. It's too risky. Not unless we have a monsoon for a month straight (which we never do).
Why has voting become solely about trying to keep the most egregious people from occupying office? This country is such trash.
I keep hearing how AI will make software so easy to write and yet Gmail still hasn't evolved beyond the mid 2010s.
Tidal announces they will be labeling and demonetizing all AI-generated music, and I'm once again so glad I switched from Spotify. No streaming app is perfect (and I do buy a LOT of music too) but this is so much better than an AI swamp.
I've been waiting for Tidal to figure out its position on AI-generated music. It finally has, and it's pretty good: -AI labeling -No using AI to impersonate real artists -AI music won't be monetized support.tidal.com/hc/en-us/art...
I don't understand why all progressives aren't vegans. Are you only progressive for humans? How do you reconcile that? Please someone explain this to me. Perhaps progressive just isn't the right label for my views, but rather something more encompassing.
@riviantrackr.com My one suggestion would be to add an option to hide the places in the driver map view. I think it's distracting with all those place names in there and makes the street names harder to see.
@riviantrackr.com Dude the map view in the driver display is awesome!
