We have an opening for a PhD position at SOHAM to work on a very cool project (COOLNET)! Supervised by Guillaume Falmagne, Ph.D. and Prof @tahayasseri.bsky.social, they will work on large-scale multiplayer video games to study and compare mechanisms that foster global cooperation in social dilemmas.

For an easy experiment that frames socioeconomic status within cities: Search for Whole Foods vs Dollar Tree. It’s often a near mirror image. I just made these of LA. I’m sure the equivalent is true outside the US.

Putting both alts in each image to have the comparison: For this image: A map highlighting multiple Whole Foods Market locations with red location markers in the Los Angeles area, showing clusters particularly around downtown and Pasadena.
