Art. Nature. Poetry. Life. She/Her.
Watching a spider carefully spinning its web in the most inconvenient place possible in my garden.
Love is a well worn word. How readily it rolls off the tongue. So easy to forget it's not just a feeling— it's a value, an action, a way of living. It's what the world is missing. #mpprompt

A weed is just a wildflower in the wrong place, So they say, I find myself collecting things, Sayings, empty snail shells, other people's anxieties, Everything has it's place, Except for those stray nipple hairs, They, can go elsewhere. #PoemsAbout #Strays
Tomorrow: #PoemsAbout #Strays. Who gets taken home? Who gets left outside? Who learnt they were better off there? Don’t post before Friday. Tag #PoemsAbout. Use Alt Text.

Anxiety, shallow breaths, lumpy catches in the throat, at the solar plexus, unmoored weightlessness of lung & head, the body paradoxically rooted, yet unable to find repose, mind flitting across preoccupations, not knowing where to focus yet focused on itself, preying on itself, is our condition now
Today about 100 people took part in a mass trespass in the Prime Minister’s constituency. There’s a right to roam over just 1% of Makerfield, & today the landowner proved our point for us: putting up fencing & calling the police. @andyburnham.bsky.social - please open the door to the countryside!
I very much enjoyed 'The Death of Robin Hood'. A little slow paced for some perhaps, particularly as a contrast to the grizzly start, but I appreciated the complex story of human nature it was telling. The soundtrack by Jim Ghedi was sublime. tidal.com/album/529869...

The wind just undid all the buttons up the front of my skirt. Don't worry though, it was only in central Bristol so I only flashed 30 people or so...
How I support myself as a writer is by not supporting myself as a writer and having an entirely different job and pretending this is a fun adventure I get to go on to make friends
Thank you to @markantonyowen.com for choosing to include me alongside wonderful poets for the latest @iamb.uk wave of #poetry. I very much look forward to reading everyone's contributions. #PoetryCommunity

Resharing this one for #PoemsAbout #EndOfSummer
Sharing an oldie (2015) that was actually originally written as a song in commemoration of a friend who died too young. Hopefully it works okay as a poem for #PromptCombo on the theme of #Summer. With thanks to @victoriaspires.bsky.social for hosting this week 🖤 #PoetrySky #Poetry
My local, The Fallen Tree Micropub, has won the CAMRA best pub of the year South West. A proud moment for beer drinkers. But the best part is they've rewarded us all with free snacks.
Absolutely. Well, maybe my fantasy has always been more inclined towards a bookstore/library bar with an aloof, beautiful feline found roaming the tables and bookshelves, but basically, the exact same, yes.
At the end of the day, don’t we all just want to open up an independent bookstore on a cobblestone street in Edinburgh that doubles as a café and triples as a pet rescue?
#PoemsAbout #EndOfSummer starts Friday. Empty beaches. Cooling nights. Sun-bleached memories. The last swim. The first goodbye. We favour vivid imagery over explanation. Draft now. Use Alt Text.
I recently realised that one of my favourite tropes is "self-entitled people get their comeuppance". In fiction and non-fiction. In films and series. In life. Actually, in everything.
