101 lbs. 13 volunteers. 2 hours. 😮‍💨 Earlier today, neighbors across #Berwyn came together for our FIRST block cleanup — and they weren’t playing around. 3 routes. 13 bags. Over 100 lbs of trash off our streets, alleys, and litter hot spots near train tracks.

A group of Berwyn residents pose in front of Berwyn Rec ahead of a community cleanup. Some kneel, others stand and smile A resident in a lavender jacket, black track pants, and orange nitrile gloves wheels back more trash collected on her route in a black cart.8 white bags of trash on the groundA mom and daughter clean vehicular debris from the sides of train tracks. The mother kneels as a train goes by behind her. Her daughter watches.

Congrats to all the Creatives! You should read this entire publication (including a poem by my husband!) very impactful work- thank you @luckyjefferson.com for publishing on this important topic!

Our THIRD release of the year is here! In our 17th anthology, #Bond, we partner with Juan Hernandez, a currently incarcerated artist, to bring together the poetry, prose, and art of 18 currently and previously incarcerated creatives, as well as those connected to them and the system.

Eeeeee! Nothing and we mean nothing could have prepared us for a mailbox OVERFLOWING with submissions for our forthcoming book #Bond — a publication that highlights the relationships of those currently and previously navigating our criminal justice system.

A bunch of mailed letters spread out on top of a few larger tan envelopes.

It has been a pleasure working with Lucky Jefferson again for Estallido! I hope everyone takes some time to check out this issue full of inspirational pieces.
