I cannot say enough about Jim Moore and his collection of poems, Prognosis. Poignantly jolting. #poem #poetry #writingcommunity

Highlight of my month so far is going to the opening night of the Paranormal Activity play on Broadway and finding out they posted my meager attempt at acting on their Instagram page 😂
Just learned my mom made history by being the first black cheerleader at her middle school. Iconic.
Soo excited for this drop!

I need a Reddit thread to help me process this book I just finished reading
A poem about the sad beast inside for #PromptCombo #Bestiary Previously published in 'Selected Poetry: Autumn' from @thebrokenspine.co.uk thanks to this week's host @janpsolivagant.bsky.social
Currently in that weird liminal space of reflection a good book or movie will put you in. Just finished “Educated” by Tara Westover, a memoir that explores how memory shapes identity, how identity shapes memory, and what it’s like to lose custody of one’s own mind.
The repetition of ‘here’, and even the missing word in the title, in Collette Bryce's poem speaks of absence. The enjambment & line endings fill the poem with thoughtful hesitation. I love the unusual similes too – ‘like discs in a jukebox’ #poetry #poemoftheday #NationalLonelinessWeek
There is nothing I hate more than when people open the door before looking through the peep hole in shows and movies.
It’s going to be 101 degrees today. I’m going to the beach. And my mom asks the most mothering question ever: “Are you sure you’re going to be warm enough?” 😂
This was also one of my favorite books growing up, which, again, explains a lot
On this date in 1947, Anne Frank’s "The Diary of a Young Girl" was first published, appearing in the Netherlands under the title "Het Achterhuis" (“The Secret Annex”); it became a classic of war literature.

Absolutely loved “A Series of Unfortunate Events” growing up, which I think explains a lot now
I always knew my parents were a little different, because they read Series of Unfortunate Events with me and said "this is a good book. Life is unfair. Older men are always trying to trick you into marrying them. Don't do it, they are broke. No one can help you. Good lessons to learn young."
A pet ode will always hold a place in my heart and this one is beautiful
This poem is more than a poem about a dog. It is about loyalty & estrangement, trust and language, family and forgiveness It hinges on a few lines in the middle stanza... And a dog that does what humans struggle to do #poetry #poemoftheday
A poem and drawing, both recent. I didn't do them to go together, but they fit well.
I let go and started reading a new book. And I’m enjoying it.
I really want to read something new but I hate leaving a book halfway-read through ☹️ and now I’m psychoanalyzing my reluctancy and fear of letting go ☹️

There is always a man, slight and dark-socketed, standing by a window, gazing at the mute and luminous moon. —Joanna Solfrian
