we don’t have enough leaders around telling people that without drought mitigation/adaptation that starts *now*, Southern Europe will have to ratio water daily in warm months. Surely many middle class and above private citizens will manage, but think about schools, hospitals, care -and yes the poor.

For a brief moment I thought the fight agaisnt climate change and environmental degradation was on hiatus. I was wrong. It's dead. Maybe a new push will come in the future, but for now it is definitely not a priority if its even in the conversation at all.

The Italian Prime Minister's logic is sound. Unfortunately, another example of the Economy beating out sustainability efforts. With the push for EU countries to buy air conditioners, the flight against climate change is clearly on hiatus. www.politico.eu/article/ital...
