Comet 10P/Tempel has a very prominent dust trail and it is a rare opportunity to photograph such a feature. Its ion tail is also visible, to the right and below the dust trail. At around mag 8.5, the comet can be observed with large binoculars, in Capricorn. #cometWatch #astrophotography

Comet 10P/Tempel features a large green asymmetric coma, about 18 arcminutes across. A faint line runs diagonally across the image and though the nucleus, representing the dust trail of the comet, created by accumulated dust from past apparitions. To the right of the nucleus and below the dust trail is visible a faint tail. The image follows the movement of the comet, with the stars appearing as trails.

Equipment: GSO N203/800 with TS GPU coma corrector, Prometheus Astro Tyr mount, Touptek 294MC-Pro, 2" UV/IR filter by Pegasus astro, Svbony 30mm f/4 guidescope with SV305 camera, controlled via Stellavita.

Comet 10P/Tempel is slowly approaching Earth (not very closely though) this summer and now shines at around mag 10. It has an almost stellar nucleus and a extended coma (about 11 arcminutes). It lies at the Capricorn-Aquarius border, moving southwards. #cometWatch #astrophotography

A comet visible in a starry field. The comet has a bright nucleus and an off center green coma. Maybe a faint tail is barely visible towards the right. The brighter stars have four spikes.

Comet MAPS may have not survived, but C/2025 R3 (PanSTARRS) is putting on a show in the early hours sky. As of 8 April 2026, it has grown a long ion tail, and there are hints of a dust tail and is visible with large binoculars. Perihelion is on 11 days. #cometWatch #astrophotography

A comet with a round, bright green coma and a long, structured tail with knots and streamers extending beyond the edge of the frame. There is also a short dust tail.

Equipment: 8-inch f/4 newtonian telescope, 294MC-Pro, guided Prometheus-astro tyr, controlled by StellaVita.

Comet C/2025 R3 (PanSTARRS) on 29 March 2026, finally, after nearly two cloudy weeks. It is about mag 7.5 and has developed a nice long ion tail. It will continue to brighten up to mid April, when it will pass between Earth and the Sun. #cometwatch #astrophotography

Comet C/2025 R3 (PanSTARRS) on 29 March 2026, 2:45 (UTC). 
The comet has features a round, green coma and a nice ion tail, over a degree long, extending beyond the edge of the frame. Coma is about 7 arcminutes across. The two brightest stars visible are 40 and 41 Pegasi.

Periodic comet Schaumasse, this time with a dedicated astrocamera. The comet features and exteded fainter coma and a rather short dust tail. The comet is located in Serpens Caput and is moving away both from the Sun and the Earth. #cometwatch #astrophotography

My first decent image of C/2026 A1 (MAPS). Located rather low for northern latitudes, it may become briefly very bright in early April as it plunges next to the Sun. Currently around mag 11, with condensed nucleus, round coma and hint of tail. #cometwatch #astrophotography

What an interesting year for comets 2025 turned out to be. After a daylight comet in January, a large gap in even slightly bright comets until an outburst in autumn, including a bright interstellar comet. Happy new year! I wish you the best for 2026! #cometWatch

Comet 24P/Schaumasse, at mag 10, is the brightest comet in the Christmas night sky. It is currently crossing the upper half of the Virgo Cluster, passing near many galaxies, like M100 and M91. It has a round green coma and a faint ion tail. #cometWatch #astrophotography

As the weather is bad here the last week, this is comet C/2025 K1 from 20 days ago, when its nucleus had split in three (bigger telescope needed to get a nice separation between the three pieces). Pseudochrome image to better highlight the nuclear region. #cometWatch #astrophotography

Interstellar #comet #3I/ATLAS in the early hours of November 20 as seen from Crete, as the weather was favorable. A faint ion tail and anti-tail can be seen as the comet is past perihelion. Nothing out of the ordinary but cool to see such a bright interstellar object. #cometWatch

A new comet, C/2025 T1 (ATLAS), was discovered earlier in October and it has brightened rapidly in just two weeks. Now it is around mag 11, has a round coma 4' and a short tail. It is near M101, in Ursa Major. Perihelion is in about a month, at 1.11 AU. #cometWatch

Against all odds, C/2025 K1 (ATLAS) has survived perihelion, which was at Mercury's orbit. The comet has emerged in the dawn sky and features a long ion tail, more than a degree long, with a distinct reddish color (contrary to the usual blue). #CometWatch

Comet Lemmon is hands down the third best comet of the last 10 years for the northern hemisphere. As easy with the naked eye as the Andromeda Galaxy, with a hint of tail 2-3 degrees long from dark skies! Unfortunately clouds were present at the direction of the comet. #cometWatch #astronomy
