It is much simpler: We know what we emitted since we know how much fossil fuel has been burned. And that’s twice as much as has accumulated in the atmosphere. So nature hasn’t been a source but a sink: oceans and forests took up half. And that’s also observed fact. www.climate.gov/news-feature...
How do we know the build-up of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere is caused by humans?
Fossil fuels are the only source of carbon dioxide large enough to raise atmospheric carbon dioxide amounts so high so quickly.

Bordeaux, France, has now recorded more days above 40°C in 2026 alone than during the entire 105-year period from 1920 (when observations began) to 2025. This is deeply shocking.

It's shocking that after less than 3 months this outbreak has grown bigger than an outbreak that ran for almost 2 years. A big part of the explanation is what researchers have uncovered about what happened in Mongbwalu in the months before the epidemic was declared: www.science.org/content/arti... 🧪
EXCLUSIVE: Congo’s Ebola epidemic started at least 4 months before it was detected
A remote mining town gripped by fear saw hundreds of suspected cases before the government declared an outbreak, report says

It's been two and a half months since the Ebola outbreak in the DRC was declared and it is now the biggest the country has ever experienced and the second largest the world has ever seen. Dozens of cases continue to be reported each day across three separate provinces. 🧪 insp.cd/sitrep-n077-...

My teams have completed all necessary checks and testing of the Cebreros station. After careful review, we have declared the antenna GREEN for nominal operations as of 27 July.
Based on current information, the Cebreros station appears to have remained unharmed. My deepest thanks go to the Spanish emergency services whose efforts helped protect the site as wildfires approached. Left: 24 July 19:57, Right: 25 July 07:54
102 new Ebola cases and 45 deaths reported by DRC over past 24 hours. For context: Many Ebola outbreaks in the past have remained small. These numbers mean the DRC has reported more cases overnight than were reported IN TOTAL during each of about two dozen smaller Ebola outbreaks. 🧪

This is really, really bad. This is one of the complexes we use to communicate with spacecraft in deep space. The effects of climate change are extending out into the Solar System.

The number of chicks in the Coulman Island emperor penguin colony decreased by around 69% in 2025, according to research in Communications Earth & Environment. The study suggests that a large iceberg likely restricted the colony’s access to important foraging areas. go.nature.com/4vLBNPU 🌎🧪
