Another Tuesday cheapo movie day at the local multiplex. Today I saw the new Resident Evil movie and quite enjoyed it. I haven’t seen the older films or even played the games, but this was a lot of fun. I laughed a lot (laudatory), fast paced with cool effects. 👍👍

Tuesday is half-price movie day at the nearby multiplex so I caught an early show of Buddy, the new movie from Casper Kelly (Too Many Cooks). I liked it OK but can’t help feel it would be a better [adult swim] Infomercial or YouTube short. Still, worth a watch. (Look for scene-stealer Clint Howard.)
I recently watched this - Buffet Infinity, a strange low-fi horror comedy. Format reminds me a lot of the analog horror channels on YouTube, like LOCAL58TV and The Mandela Catalog. Thumbs up, and h/t to @gemmafiles.bsky.social for bringing it to my attention.

I was 32, I remember. Erik is correct. The attacks were horrible, the US response was worse. Prejudice, hatred, xenophobia were (more) mainstreamed. I think you can draw a straight line from that response to the fascist state of the union right now.
