I wanted to formally dip my toe into games writing, so I took a class. The concept was simple enough - write a story and then develop it different ways, including into some very basic games. I created a few pieces I thought were pretty OK, in an offbeat sort of way.

You know what's weird? How often 'prurient' is used to mean its exact opposite. It doesn't mean closed-minded, prudish or judgemental - it means salacious, lewd, and downright obscene! It's probably the mouthfeel. It's too compact a word for its meaning. ₚᵣᵤᵣᵢₑₙₜ.
You know what I can't stand? Philosophical speculation about the existence of free will. It's impossible to determine for sure or even really define! It's pure angels-dancing-on-pins without practical applications or even anything interesting to say. When free will enters the discussion, I leave it.
Shaking with anger about something I absolutely can't do anything to resolve at 1 in the morning. And I have to be conscious and sensible in a few hours to haul my bones into the city for work. This sucks.
My favourite part of a podcast is the first two-thirds where they get through a fifth of their subject while doing bits. My least favourite part is the final third where they rush through the final four-fifths while still doing the bits, but grumpily, like an overtired toddler.
