“Treachery” is a powerful word. It implies betrayal of the most vile and poisonous sort.

The Merriam-Webster dictionary defines treachery as “an act of perfidy or treason,” the highest crime against one’s nation.

As a result of this change, some patients may now choose to pay privately for cataract surgery rather than remaining on the public waitlist. This option is entirely voluntary. Your place on the publicly funded waitlist does not change unless you choose to pursue private surgery.
