MechanoMaST worfklow diagram. Two directly adjacent colorectal cancer liver metastasis cryosections are undergoing a different process each. In one mechanical maps are generated via AFM. In the other one the gene expression maps are generated vis Spatial transcriptomics. The generated maps from both sections are then spatially registered. Via random forest regression and differential expression analysis the biomechanome, a list of genes associated with mechanical properties can be computed.
